Coleman Proforce 6 Gallon Air Compressor Questions & Answers
Hi I have a coleman
This compressor appears to be an obsolete model, and the parts diagram (
https://mastertoolrepair.com/air-compressor-parts-vpp0200604-vp0200604-p-14827.html) does not show a part number for the fan blade. This means it was either a subcomponent of another assembly -- probably the pump unit itself -- or it is out of stock permanently. I'd suggest you take the old blade and fill the mounting hole with epoxy, then after it cures, drill a new hole and reinstall it. Otherwise, your compressor is likely "toast."
Over heating
OILESS COMPRESSORS WILL HEAT UP MORE THAN OIL FILLED COMPRESSORS,HOW EVER 2 THING'S.CHECK TO SEE THAT THE AIR INLET/FILTER IS NOT BLOCKED OR CLOGED AND MAKE SURE YOU BOUGHT ENOUGH COMPRESOR FOR YOUR USE.HOPE THIS HELP'S
I have the pro source air compressor, 10 gallon, 2
First if it's brand new I'd take it back to where you bought it. They have to sell you a product that works and anything you do to it will either void their responsibility or the company warranty. That said; if you have no leaks and assuming the hole you're talking about is the input side for the air filter and not the output side of the pump that should have a tube running into the tank stand pipe, it sounds like you may have one or more broken reed valves or bad ring(s) on the piston. Oil-less air pumps have one ring or wiper that does fail, oil-splash pumps have pistons like small engines with compression rings and an oil wiper. If they are run without oil the damage can be catastrophic. Not hard to fix but if you break the paint on the head bolts you void any warranty you have on the unit.

My Proforce VPP200604 won't turn
I need to amend my last statement. Your problem is probably a burned out starting capacitor but it could also be a nonfunctional presure release valve. If your compressor start when there is no pressure but has these symptoms when there is pressure then the problem is the pressure relief valve rather than the starting capacitor.
My small pro force reaches a certain pressure and
hi, sounds like the safetyvalve is opening.
there is a opening value on the valve, check this at moment of opening.
if it opens at correct value, your pressure regulator is set to high. to lower this you have to open the regulator, (is the small case where the wires going in) and release the bold in the spring.(unplug first before opening, life parts)
if the problem stays the same, make sure that the pressure out of the tank will reach the regulator.
there is a small hole witch can be closed by rust or dirt.
good luck, you can always aske for more options.
Compressor won't turn off automatically
adjust regulator.
take off cover from regulator, release bolt or screw in the spring.
if you do this while running watch out for electrical shock.
if this dont work, check electrical part of regulator.
can be stuck.
watch pressure gauge not go over max.
good luck.
Will not fill with air
Below is a link for parts to a Coleman compressor model #VPP0200604. Not positive but I think that is what you have.
However before you buy anything how do you know what the problem is? Is the motor running? If the problem is that it's just worn out you may find it difficult to get parts for rebuilding it. What you have is whats commonly referred to as a throw away pump. The second link show the pumps replacement cost, around $85.00. If you do manage to get rebuild parts for it they will cost at least that much.
You can get a Senco at Home Depot which is a couple grades up from yours for around $125.00.
Your compressor is really not worth the effort to rebuild it.
If on the other hand your compressors motor is not starting up please include any details in a response to this and I'll try and troubleshoot it for you.
Hope this helps.
