Replace a clutch spring on a XP346
The 346 has two claw type springs part no. 537080001, use a pair of external pointed circlip pliers to expand the springs and fit oover the shes.
Will not stay running
Check the fuel line from the tank to carburetor. Ethanol fuel has caused many problems with fuel lines cracking, causing poor fuel pick-up issues. I'd start with replacing the fuel line and filter first. If you know the year of it (check serial number) go to partstree.com and it will give you a parts breakdown and ordering capabilities for this saw.
Chain won't move after chain replacement
Had this happen to mine when I was limbing stuff that was too small. I know better. There is probably a burr on one or more of the guide portion of the links where they run in the bar. This causes that link to be tight in the bar at this point. The chain probably hit something on the body of the saw when it flew off. Take the bar off the saw and run the chain through the groove in the bar. If you have any links with nicks, they will bind, causing the chain to stick and not run freely. Once you've identified the problem links you can remove the nicks using 120 grit paper backed up with a flat piece of steel so you only remove the high spots.
How do I sharpen the chain
There are plenty off the shelf devices to aid chain sharpening, Husqvarna do a simple roller gauge, easy to use and very effective.
Can't re-install side cover after chain replacement.
Either the cover was removed with the brake engaged, OR the brake was "tripped" while the cover was off the saw.
Clamp the cover in a vise being careful to stay on flat surfaces of the cover (use wooden blocks if needed) and pull the brake lever back to the "OFF" position. It's a strong spring so pull hard in the direction that would be towards the rear of the saw if the cover were installed.
Hope this helps.
Chainsaw is smoking excessively when in use
White smoke is usually associated with burning antifreeze in an automobile engine, but in this case, trying to cut wet wood might be suspect. The chain must be properly sharpened and the teeth cut toward you on the bottom run of chain. When the chain is properly adjusted, it should not droop from the lower edge of the bar, but no so tight that you can't turn it by hand. Forcing a poor cutting chain into the kerf will overheat the chain and cause it to become loose quickly. Hope this helps!
Saw runs great, however when cutting;the kerf goes
You probably have a warped bar. Remove side cover and chain, then remove and reverse bar ( move the top to the bottom ) . Pour bar and chain oil on the tip of your bar and spin gear inside with a flat screwdriver to allow oil total penetration. re - install chain and side cover, adjust chain and tighten cover.Make sure you keep the oil reservoir full - refill everytime you add fuel. When it starts cutting crooked just reverse the bar again.
NEED TO REPLACE GAS LINE
hi everyonei too was unfortunate enough to buy a husqvarna chainsaw. in my opinion the only solution to fixing these pieces of rubbish is a litre of fuel and a match and post it on utube. this is the only way you will get satisfaction.ripped off and give up
My Husq 136 will start but has no torque, if you
It sounds like you carburetor is dirty, this is common when they sit for extended amounts of time. First I would try removing the air filter and spraying the carb with carb cleaner and letting it soak in, Then start it up, (it may be difficult) when it starts rev it up and cover the air intake so it could possibly **** the blockage through, other wise you would need to disassemble the carb an manually clean it.
Husqvarna chain brake
You'll have to release the brake with the cover off the saw. You just need to find a way to brace it well enough.
If you really can't do this, then it suggests your chainbrake is faulty, of ath the very least not adjusted right.
