I have a Husqvarna 2448 I just rebuilt the engine someone before changed the motor the four wires 2 go to charging like the other 2 go it discharges when you kick the pto in I put a new clutch on it the 4 wires are my problem

Check the alternator output. You will need a small multimeter. Lots of videos on how to do this on YouTube

you might have sheared the flywheel key thats what set the timing if the timings not right it will not have spark he are aluminum keys they shear easy with out causing damage to the engine

there should be a adjuster on the spring

start with replaceing the seat switch

having trouble with mulching unit on 22hp tractor.Mulching kit installed by dealer at time of purchase.What is happening is grass is kicking up on the top of the mowing unit,covering the belts and everything else.I need to do a major cleaning every time I use the tractor.Any one got some solution.

Jumper white to white on the PTO clutch wires and see if it will turn over.
Result = No check to make sure the clutch / brake pedal switch is being made when you depress the brake.

Next install the Seat switch jumpers black to black and gray to gray for TESTING only and attempt a start.

Last... use a longer jumper and connect White wire of PTO to the solenoid small ( + ) terminal and try a start. If it starts here the clutch / brake switch is bad.

You can do this.. it is not hard. Just a matter of sorting out which switch is not working.

Something to try before installing jumpers... Bounce on the seat pretty hard several times and cycle the clutch / brake pedal through full stroke. I.e fully depressed and then pull it all the way to the top for 5 or 6 cycles. Then attempt start.

yes, you will have to put a plate off the discharge. Hope this helped Tim

Typ of oil - best for this engine is SAE 5W-30 and company - maybe Castrol.
If you change oil with oil filter you need oil 64 oz if without oil filter - 60oz.

You didn't indicate what model of tractor you have but most likely it is a hydrostatic drive. Theis means the power is transfered from the engine to the wheels by hydraulic pressure. If the fluid level (hydraulic oil) is low then it won't drive correctly. Follow the owners manual to check the fluid level. The other possibility is if this is an older unit it could actually have water in the oil.The water will not operate correctly. Where did the water come from? The transmission housing, is vented to atmosphere. On a hot humid day, while you're driving, the fluid and housing is heated. When the tractor cools, the ambient humid air enters the housing. When night rolls aroound the water condensing inside the housing. If you're lucky this transaxle may have a drain plug in the bottom. You can remove this and see if the oil looks milky. If it does, I'd drain it all and refill with fresh oil.

need to do compression test to test piston rings and check carb float possible sticking allowing fuel to keep flowing

if it's like mine (MTD) you push in and turn counter clockwise, should be about a full 1/2 turn, make sure you relieve the head pressure by taking the dip stick out. Hope this helps
