How to remove a gearbox on a ryobi cultivator

I had the same problem, the engine ran but the tines would barely move on my Ryobi tiller. There were 2 plugs on the gear box. I removed them with an Allen wrench and added oil until it leaked out, replaced the plugs, waited awhile and started it.That fixed the problem, it worked fine.

Air in fuel ryobi tiller

you will have 2 lines at the tank. 1 is the supply line with one end having the fuel filter on it and sitting at the bottom of the tank. it generally runs to the inlet side of the carb. the output side of the carb usually goes to the primer bulb inlet, the last hose usually goes from the outlet of the primer bulb back to the fuel tank but only goes in 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch. it should only be in far enough to seal the hole and allow the fuel back in to the tank If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/kelly_69a0cf1b13789df1

Ryobi ry60514 is frozen.

Does the engine turn over? If not then it has most likely seized. If the engine turns but the blades won't then make sure you didn't wrap something around the tines causing it to bind up If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/kelly_69a0cf1b13789df1

Have a Ryobi Tiller, repaired

You will probably need to remove the engine covers and check the "air-gap" between the coil (ignition module) and the magnets in the flywheel. An acceptable gap is .010"-.012". This is about the equivalent of the thickness of a standard business card. Once you are to the point of adjustment, fold the business card in half (with coil module screws loose, but still in engine), slide the card in between the flywheel and pickup legs on the coil; then turn the flywheel until the magnets line up and let them "draw" the coil in with the folded up card in between. I say fold it, because the pressure from the pull of the magnets actually compresses the paper card, and you end up with an acceptable "air-gap". Tighten the module screws real tight while the card is still in, them remove the card. Try this and post back if needed. You can initially check the "air-gap" with a feeler gauge, but it is tricky with a steel one as it tends to stick to the magnets. They have non-magnetic gauges for this.

To make your day a little bit easier, you can buy the one gallon mix bottles of oil from Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart. Just goto the lawn and garden department and there you will find these bottles of oil. One bottle to one gallon of gas.
