I FINALLY GOT THE ANSWER! I ALSO HAVE A GODADDY EMAIL ADDRESS AND USE A HTC TOUCH PHONE FROM SPRINT. I've entered the following settings and my email now works like a charm! This is for a POP3 email address, not an IMAP email address.

You cannot send the email unless you have a sprint email address. Email must go through the Sprint server in order to be sent (incoming mail does not).

Call Sprint Tier II (877.345.7895) and ask them to set you up with a User Name and Password for the outgoing mail server. All the rest of the settings are as follows:

EMAIL SET UP Email Address: [email protected] Your Password: the password you use to access your go daddy account Check SAVE PASSWORD Click NEXT UNCLICK TRY TO GET EMAIL SETTINGS AUTOMATICALLY FROM THE INTERNET. Click NEXT. Your Email Provider: Internet Email Click Next Your Name: Dales Wife Account Display Name: 'GoDaddy Email" or whatever you'd like to call it so you can identify this account (you can have several email accounts sent to your phone). Click NEXT Incoming Mail Server: pop.secureserver.net Account Type: POP3 Click NEXT User Name: Again enter [email protected] Password: Enter your password again Check SAVE PASSWORD Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: smtp.sprintpcs.com CHECK Outgoing server requires authentication UNCHECK Use the same user name and password for sending email Advanced Server Settings: DO NOT Check: Require SSL for Incoming e-mail DO NOT Check: Require SSL for Outgoing e-mail Click DONE to return to previous screen Click NEXT Outgoing Server Login: [email protected] Password: When you call Sprint Tier II they will ask you what password you'd like. Check Save Password. Automatic Send/Receive: I use every 5 minutes and it doesn't seem to run my battery down. Click FINISH. This has been driving me crazy for two months now so I really hope this information helps somebody else out. Best of luck! NOW, if anyone knows how to remove those annoying envelopes when I access my mail - I could use the help. There are three envelopes there (one for GoDaddy mail, one for Outlook and one for Picture Mail.) I do not use Outlook or Picture Mail and would love it if I could remove those.

HTC Touch Pro T7272 - Sound problem

Hi there,
Whenever it goes into sleep mode, and I re-activate the device, both incoming or outgoing calls - no sound can be heard either way. If "Vibrate & Ring" mode is on, only the vibrating mode works. However, if I do a soft reset, it works fine for a while & the same no sound problem again. Could this be some setting error? What can I do?
Please help. All input appreciated.
Thanks and regards, geng1959

go to htc.com and download the last rom for touch pro and it will be fine!
NB: I downloaded the arabic rom wich have two features
1- on the first Installingthe rom is english
2- As u can active arabic, you can also disable it if you are foreign users but it will be better to install it without acivating arabic (case 1-)

HTC touch pro... touch screen has stopped working

I had this same problem and I was able to fix it myself for free. This problem seems to be common for people who carry their phone in their pocket instead of the holster. What happens is debris gets stuck around the edges of the screen and then the screen stops responding to the touch. All I had to do is slide my fingernail along the edges of the screen (almost like you are going to peel the screen off) to get the debris out from under the edges of the screen. It also works to use compressed air to blow out the debris.

Screen on my Sprint HTC Touch Pro Glitches up

Today out of nowhere, the screen on my touch pro starts glitching up. The best way i can describe it, is that the icons on the screen are constantly twitching and moving all around the screen. I downloaded a theme changer and thought this was the cause, so i did a hard reset back to manufacturer's condition just to be safe, and still had the problem. Most of the time when i do a soft reset with the stylus, it won't boot and instead goes to an all white or blue screen, sometimes with different color lines through the screen. The few times i do get it to boot, the "touch pro" logo is not displayed where it normally is on boot, or the words are cut off horizontally. I have yet to confirm this, but it seems the only time that the phone displays normally is when i use it horizontally with the keyboard pulled out. Has anyone heard of this occurring and know of a solution to this problem. I was thinking that maybe i should do the rom update that htc offers but seeing as my phone's not unlocked i don't think that's wise, plus when i put my serial number in, htc will not accept so that i can download the install file. Can anyone help????

You need to walk in to a sprint repair center and have them change the ribbon from the sliding LCD screen. If u have the extended warranty there should be no cost. If you don't you have to pay get it repair it should not be more then $55.00 to get it repair. Or you can send it to HTC and have them repair it for you but it takes 3 weeks to get your phone back.

HTC Touch Pro text font size keeps shrinking

I have an HTC Touch Flo from Sprint. I have had it about 2 months and a few weeks ago it started automaticly changing the font on my text messages to the smallest settings. When I go to the screen settings it still has it set at the largest setting. I have to change the font to smallest in the settings, exit and go back in and change it back to the largest setting for the text size to change. Sometimes it will happen in the middle of typing a message.

I was having a similar issue only my text was getting bigger. I found this link and it answered our problem and it also had other useful information: http://news.softpedia.com/news/HTC-Touch-Pro-Review-97938.shtml

The HTC Touch Pro supports SMS, MMS and email. Thanks to the 3D interface, users will be able to thumb scroll longer messages in the Inbox. Dynamic font resizing (zooming in/out with the scroll wheel) is also available. HTC Touch Pro also offers Message delivery reports in its Settings menu.

After reading that I tried it out on one of my text messages and sure enough it changed the font just like it said it would.
The center button allowed for the zooming in (bigger) and out (smaller). All you had to do was run your finger around it in a clockwise and/or counter clockwise motion.

I hope this helps you out.

Slide out keyboard not working on HTC Touch Pro

Keyboard rarely works on HTC Touch pro, will work occasionally, but usually just does not function. Sometimes corrects if you remove battery for a minute or so and then start again, getting progressively worse

Take the battery out of the TP and then press down very hard on the spacebar. This will reconnect the flex cable and will fix it for the time being. But in the end a replacement will be needed.
