Try lubrication the connector, if you used the same ends, if they fit before, they will fit now.

Could be, do you have a capacitor checker? It sounds like you have a compressor locked up. Do you have oil in the compressor? If the compressor is new I would take it back and see if it is still under warranty. before I did any thing to it.....
In order to close the tank drain valve, is it
Generally, to close the tank valve, looking at the top of the handle or lever, rotate clockwise. If your drain is like a radiator drain, turning clockwise will make the handle/lever come out until it hits a stop. Turning it counterclockwise while looking from the outside of the handle/lever/knob will make the stem move in but open the drain.
Let me know how you do.

Did you drain last years fuel out completely? That is usually the problem with small engines. Gasoloine has a shelf life of thirty days and then it starts to turn to varnish. When that happens everythinh in the fuel system gets coated. The carb will not work if it did start. If you did clean and blow out fuel before storage then check for spark. Pull the spark plug and keep it connected to the cable then fasten it somehow to the engine block (Vise-grips). Crank the motor and you should see spark on the plug. All this assuming your battery is good. Did it sit all summer in the heat? Have it checked for cranking amps and voltage. No spark means no ignition system. Spark but no start is fuel system but battery must be 100% before anything else.
1 hp 3gal craftsman compressor will only build up
A piston in any engine should be around 100 psi I would guess. A Chevy 350 used to be around 150 psi. An air compressor that only pumps enough air to reach 20psi is obviously too low on compression. Nailers and the like need 80 or more psi. The intake valves may be shot, the unloader might be stuck or piston rings are worn.
Cannot get above 40 psi
Hi talex, my name is John. Welcome to FixYa. Check all lines for air leaks, check the line coming from the pump to the tank, you may have to remove it to check it, alot of times this line will have a split in it and hard to pin-point the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa...John
Compressor not building enough pressure.only 5lbs.
It seems that your cut off switch or your relief valve is not working. If the cut off switch stops the compressor at 5psi instead of 100/120, then the switch is defective. If the relief valve operates (loud whooshing sound and the compressor keeps running), then the relief valve needs replacing. Normally the relief valve wears out first as the seal gets worn or the spring fails.
Tank pressure goes up to
Hi, my name is John. Welcome to FixYa. You have air leaks. Check all lines, pressure switch, line coming from pump to tank. You may have to remove this one to inspect it. Check valve at the bottom of tank. Thanks for choosing FixYa....John
What type of oil is
Howdy. It's actually called Compressor Oil and is available at nearly all hardware stores and tool rental agencies. There are several brands and they are all comparable. I use Senco, but Campbell Hausfield is also good.

Air does not pass 60 PSI motor get hot and don't
If this is an oil free compressor then you probably just need to replace the piston ring part # DAC-308 or the complete top end kit.
The parts should omly be about $35.00 and the instruction to replace the parts come with the kit.
I am changing the belt
This is standard thread, right to tighten and left to loosen.
Make sure to put a small amout of loctite on the threads when you put it back together.
PRESSURE WILL NOT BUILD, SEEMS TO RUN FINE (ABOUT
you're probably right, do you bleed the tank pressure after every use? This helps with the longevity. Could be leak in system, crack in head (these would be audible after cycle or turn off). Piston rings/seals- looks like an oilless unit- normal wear...
My craftsmen air compressor wont build pressure.
If the unit will not build up pressure you need to remove the compressor head from the compressor and inspect both the intake and the exhaust reeds as well as the piston ting on the compressor.
Without the model number of the compressor this is about as far as I can help with.
