hello lou,
it sounds definetly like you need a new motor in any case if the problem where to be fixed by a serviceman they would provide you with a guarantee. How long of a guarantee is another issue and you would have to work that out with them. You could also contact pride directly who would put you in touch with a repair company that would offer some sort of guarantee but due to your unit being so old they would most likely only guarantee the part that they put in as new along with the labor work provided. It might be more economical to look into getting a newer or used model here is the link to contact pride directly

How do you remove the back wheel of a Pride
Undo the centre wheel nut and remove along with the washer, jack the rear of the scooter off the ground then slide the wheel off the axle. If it will not remove, it will need knocking off from the inside rim. Be careful not to lose the hub key (a small piece of metal that locates in a slot in the wheel and axle) as the scooter will not drive if this is missing. To remove the trye from the rim, undo the 4 bolts that hold the two wheel halves together. When refitting the wheel, be sure to apply some grease to the axle before sliding on the wheel.
Hi, I am trying to
You should check the batteries when loaded, if they drop down below 9VDC, then perhaps the batteries need replacement.
Barring that, you can troubleshoot this problem by testing the power circuit from the batteries to the motor. Attach the negative lead of your tester to the battery, and then start testing for 12 vDC through the circuit.
The click that you hear is probably a relay that passes the heavy current from the battery to the motor. Make sure power is going into the relay and power is going out when you push the button
Hogh - low speed switch is incorrectly wired , but

DIAGNOSTIC FLASH CODES
The diagnostic flash codes for your scooter are designed to help you perform basic troubleshooting quickly and
easily. A diagnostic flash code will flash from the status LED in the event one of the conditions listed below
develops.
NOTE: Your scooter will not run unless the flash code condition is resolved and the scooter has been
turned off, then turned back on.
Any electromechanical device occasionally requires some troubleshooting. However, most of the problems that
may arise can usually be solved with a bit of thought and common sense. Many of these problems occur because
the batteries are not fully charged or because the batteries are worn down and can no longer hold a charge.

Pride hurricane pmv just replaced batteries
Are any of the lights coming on? If so, are any flashing, and if so, how many times or is it constant? Check to make sure the freewheel lever is not bumped which will cause a no-go status. Put in freewheel and place firmly back in drive (located at the rear of the scooter).
Go back in and make sure all of the snap connections are tight. Undo them and redo them, don't rely on a visual inspection. Check the circuit breaker; push it in to reset. If it has tripped, you will feel a click when you push. Check all the fuses.
Pride Zero Turn 10 - 4 beep code randomly while driving.
It is called the "current limit time out." Apparently the battery needs to recuperate or adjust its charge across the cells. That is another question. What it needs is a few minutes to be turned off. I know this from seeing the manual.
