Why when I connect my

HI Lara,

I got your issue , When you connect the modem-router-electricity ---> you have mentioned that all the lights are ON.

Only the modem is connected to the router not your computer or other devices still all the lights are on then, its obvious the router has gone bad. Try retting the router , Look on the rear end of the router you can find a Pin hole which is the reset button of your router , take a pin or a paper clip and hold the reset for 10sec and then power cycle the router (unplug the power cable and plug it in within 10sec).

If still all the lights are on then I'm sure the router is faulty.

Good Luck!

Thanks & Regards,
Prema.

Laptop ok on internet for 7 hours then keeps

tony you have to update the router firmware as the firmware is a issue , update the router with TPG , here is the link
http://en-au-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2638/p/2369
download this file on desktop , you will not be able to open the page
NOTE:do it on a hard wired computer then open the IE and type just numbers 192.168.2.1 you will get a belkin screen - (left side bottom under utilites -make a backup , that is good) once you made a backup click on firmware update and click on browse and locate the file which you have downloded . once you find the file name on the text box click update - it will take a minute to update. once updated left side click on reset factory default and router will get reset and return to the same page -now the router will be in default settings and reconfigure the router by choosing connection type as pppoe (like telstra) or dyamic (provided by isp ) make sure you type the right user name and password .
THINGS TO REMEMBER BEFORE RESET : go to connection type and check user name and password coz it will be gone after a reset
after reset the wireless will be in default mode - so after reset please reconfigure the wireless part also with a new ssid(imp) and password if needed.
try it tony but everything will be fine only with a successful update of firmware and after firmware reset is important

    vista_ipconfig.jpg
  3. The IPv4 address will be a series of numbers following the pattern xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, for example, 192.168.2.4.

Open the browser now, and type whatever you see in the default gateway or router. For belkin, by default it is 192.168.2.1
But for the model you have selected, it will not prompt you for any password. The login password is also blank by default. You may encounter a login password while making any changes. If unable to open it, check the physical connections, and/or power cycle the modem-router, and/or check the browser settings.

For any further queries, get back.

Thanks for asking,

Unfortunately, the thing you suspect is the likely answer the router. You can try bypassing it and connect the modem directly to the main computer and see if it keeps a steady connection. If the intermittent issue goes away with the router removed, then replace it.
Good thing is nice routers are around $50

I can not connect using grabit the error 119 code

Hi ....

This error message appears if:
  • An error at the TCP or IP layer has occurred.
  • The other host has gone down.
  • The network between the gateway computer and the other host has gone down.
You can test these possible causes by attempting to telnet to port 25 of the smarthost and resending the message. This can usually be done by pressing SPACEBAR and typing "25" (without the quotation marks) after the IP address on the telnet command line.

If the error message appears frequently, check the network with a protocol analyzer to determine the exact problem.

Thanks ....
With regards .....
