To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is configured in the Wireless settings in the Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key. I would ask your service provider if that modem is on the compatibility list.

You also may want to check the status of you router by logging into it and checking the "status" page(IP) And try to update the firmware..

With an ethernet cable plugged into the back of the Belkin, open a command prompt and type ipconfig. Next check what your gateway address is and open your browser and type in the gateway address should be something like http://192.168.0.1then you should see a web page that is the menu of configuration for the router.

If you connect the computer to the modem directly , does it work ?
If that works then the modem is working.
now connect the computer and the modem to the router and open the set up page of the router.

by default, Belkin comes without a default password, so just click on submit if you are trying to log in to router's GUI page,.(later you can change the password by clicking on system settings and type in the new password you like to use, also you need to leave the current password column blank)if you are trying to get the wireless key, to connect your laptop or i pad or any other device,or of there is any other help needed, please reply to this post, will give you more instructions on how to do it.

You must configure the wireless settings of the laptop manually. It should match the wireless settings of your router. If you have wireless encryption enabled, make sure to type the network key on the wireless settings of your laptop.

First reset the router by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds while power is ON and then after that run again the setup , just to give you a clue which one to choose for the internet setup, if you use Cable internet select Dynamic and if you use DSL internet set it to PPPoE and provide your email and password from your DSL company...
