You can find the
Sanyo VPC-E760 Users Manual here.
If you make sure USB Mode on the camera is set to MSDC instead of PTP (Pictbridge Print), then when you connect the camera to your usb, windows should find it as a removable mass storage device automatically, without a drivers disk. If windows wants to search its online database for drivers, let it, but this should not be necessary.

MY DIGITAL CAMERA WILL NOT STAY ON AND THE LENS IS
Could be the battery has died on you at an awkward moment, though normally a camera will retract the lens before shutting down. Apologies if you've already checked this but you haven't given much detail.
First step might be to charge the battery. If that doesn't help then before getting a new one you might like to test the battery with a voltmeter. If the battery seems OK then the problem is with the camera and will need professional attention.

Protection problem
Easy solution:
1) Put the sd card into your computer
2) Copy all the photos to your computer. User Windows Explorer to just drag the folders from the card.
3) Format the card
If you insist on having the photos back on the card, then just copy them back to the card using Windows Explorer reversing step 2.
Lense errors
You need to go to the support section of the Sanyo website to find out what the error codes mean.
Codex error when downloading to PC
The answer to question one is that there's no problem with your camera, its a setup problem with your computer which should be easy enough to fix. Go to (stands for combined community codec pack) and click on "Download Windows Vista/XP/2K". Once it's downloaded it, run it and click next, yes etc to everything that it asks you, then once it's finished restart your computer. Hopefully once this is done you'll be able to see your videos :)
