Received same error when trying to operate my TomTom Go from PC. Fixed this by deleting (or renaming) file install.rdf. File can be found in Windows 7 in: C:\gebruikers\username\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\Profiles\randomname.default\Extensions\Navcore.versio[email protected] Delete or rename the install.rdf file and try to operate your Go again from TomTom Home. It will ask to install some software, reply OK and you're done.

You need to reinstall the software on your TomTom software you need to install the TomTom software on your PC, hook up via USB, and then you will be able to work on the unit. Please go to the web site below, and there is an extensive "Help" section, easy to use.

That is really strange!
I can only suggest that you verify what MAPs are physically on your TomTom device by connecting it to a PC/LAPTOP and use Windows Explorer to look at your GPS drive folders: should see a folder for each 'country' (like GUAM).
The normal way to check which maps are registred and loaded on your device is to use TomTom Home -> Update maps function: it will show you the status or whereabout of any Maps that you have loaded or backup and which one can be purchased.

ps.i f you wisely backup your device on a regular basis (via TomTom Home or direct copy to your PC/LAPTOP), you could always RESTORE FROM BACKUP and start again.

I had the same issue and it was a defective power cable. Try to borrow one and if that fixes it, bingo. If not, it is an internal issue and must be sent back for service.

go to the tom tom website and register the GPS They will then assist you.should be fine then.

It sounds like the TomTom isn't able to boot up. This may be due to a software or data issue. Have you tried to (use HOME on your computer to) connect to the TomTom server ? to update the software/data, and/or tried to restore the software / data with the (previously) backed-up copy (that you had previously saved on your computer) ?

Make sure there is enough power. When the power gets low, it tends to conserve by limiting items that draw the most power.

Check if there is an option that allows the map screen to display longer.

You can set (or reset) your Time (& display format) using the "Menu". From your Driving screen (showing map of current location), tap on the (middle of the) screen, to show the Main Menu (on the next screen), Look for, and tap on "Change preferences". On the next screen, look for and tap "Set Unit". On the next screen, select (tap on TIME), and you can set (reset) the (display) format and time.

These 2 things can be done using the "Menu". (You can also adjust the Volume from the Driving Screen - tap bottom left area and slide the volume bar to adjust the volume). From your Driving screen (showing map of current location), tap on the (middle of the) screen, to show the Main Menu (on the next screen), Look for, and tap on "Change preferences". 1. To set Time: On the next screen, look for and tap "Set Unit". On the next screen, select (tap on TIME), and you can set (reset) the (display) format and time. 2. To set Volume: On the next screen, look for and tap "Volume preferences". You can then tap on the bar (position) and test/hear the level of the sound. And/or you can select "Link Volume to car Speed" ... and tap Done.

Usually, you connect your TomTom to your computer, and use the TomTom software (e.g. HOME) to update (e.g. buy, download and install) your map(s). If your question is about how to copy a (new / another) map on your computer to your TomTom device (i.e. without using the TomTom HOME software), you can simply copy the "map" folder (of the map on your computer) to your TomTom Device (that you've connected to your computer). You may have other questions like, is there enough memory on your TomTom device for the map ?; is the (new/other) map version compatible for the TomTom (model/version) device that you have ?; is the map "activated" to run on your TomTom device? etc.
