Pull trigger and saw does nothing
Assuming you are using an outside plug with a long extention core - it may be that you tripped a GFI (Ground fault receptacle or breaker) Short of that purhaps the trigger or brushes have failed? let me know how you make out.

The manual says to use
10W is air tool oil, or fork oil for suspension tubes, there are some air tool oils that are 5W. Did they call it 10 weight, or 10W? 10W means 10Winter, 10W-30 is 10Winter-30 Weight

CAN YOU USE MOTOR OIL
I wouldn't. I would imagine you will end up going through alot of it, as bar and chain oil is designed to stick to the needed surfaces by way of additives. The companies make bar and chain lube differently for a reason, but motor oil, if it doesn't swell or damage the internals, will probably not leave the container and reach the chain quick enough, and it will fly right off the chain. An electric won't spin up as fast as a 2-cycle, but I really wouldn't take the chance.
