A chain saw blade requires sharpening often. It can be in as little as 20 minutes if your cutting a very hard wood. Even less if you happen to allow the blade to be used in dirt.

There is a slide bolt on the side of all chain saws that allow tightning of the chain. You loosen this bolt and slide the chain bar forward until you can just slide a dime under the chain and the bar. It may take a couple of adjustments as the chain stretches a little after it gets warmed up by the friction of the bar.

You fill the oil tank with a non fling chain oil, or as heavy an oil as you can get, the non fling addative is to keep the oil on the bottom of the bar where you are cutting, and not just through off the end of the bar.

The reservoir is for bar chain oil, which all chain saws require to allow the chain to operate smoothly and reduce heat build-up from friction.

Use bar and chain oil, not regular motor oil. Bar and chain oil has an additive especially for chainsaws.

on the side of your saw there are 2 nuts next to each other, back them off one&half to two turns,and then look to the front of the saw were the bar that the chain ride on and you will find a screw head with a flat head screw driver turn clockwise to tighten not to much.you should be able to still turn the chain with your hand fairly easy snug up the two nuts end thats it.as for oil you need chainsaw chain oil you can buy it at your local hardware store.

If its an older saw, it probably worn to the point where the tolerances are so far out that there is too much gap where it needs to be tight. Depending on how much you have in it, it may not be worth fixing.

If its new, I'd take it to a saw shop and have them look at it as you shouldn't have such a problem and it could be a sign of inferior or improper assembly.

There are two nuts that hold the bar in place. They should be 7/16. You need to loosen these nuts and then you can adjust where the bar sits with a flat bladed screwdriver. It works on the right-y tight-y principle. The adjustment screw should be at the front of the chainsaw right next to the bar. The chain should be able to be lifted from the groove in the bar and snap back into place. Then re tighten the 7/16 nuts and you should be back in business.

Summer or winter weight chain oil. Same as for gas chainsaw. Available at Walmart.

It sounds like you have to long of chain for it.You should be able to get a user manual from manualsonline.com just look up your model number.You can download it free.

There will be one or two hex nuts on the side of the motor that holds the bar. This bar can move in and out if these nuts are loosened, and allow you to re assemble the chain onto the bar. Many saws have screw on the side of the bar going into the motor. This allows you to fine tune how tight the chain is before you tighten the bar back up. Be careful to not overtighten the chain. You need to be able to lift the chain up off the bar, about the thickness of a nickle, with your fingers.

If you are asking how to do this you probably don't know about sharpening the chain either. touch a rock or metal and in 2 seconds you chain is dull and you have to have it sharpened. Find someone to help you and show you how.

Also, this thing will kill you in a matter of seconds, if used improperly. Get someone to show you how to use it.

check to see if the chain is on the sprocket to do this you will probably have to remove the side cover on the saw if chain is on sprocket and still will not move then you may have a sheared key in the key way if this saw has one, if it does you should be able to see the key way on the end of the shaft coming out of the motor. there should be a nut that holds the sprocket in place if that nut is loose and the shaft is splined instead of having a key way the the sprocket could slip while the motor is turning.

all chain saws have a sprocket that the chain runs on this sprocket is what make the chain rotate on the bar. the bar is the long part that sticks out in front of the motor. you must remove the side cover of the saw to access the sprocket region of the saw. be sure the saw is unplugged and then remove side cover the bar is usually held in place by a couple of bolts. on gas saws these two bolts also hold the side cover in place and must be removed to replace the bar and chain. once you have removed the side cover look for bolts holding the bar in place. if you only want to change the chain then you may be able to only loosen the bolts or screws holding the bar in place.there should be a screw to adjust the bar forwards and backwards. this screw put tension on the chain so when you put a new chain on turning the screw will proberly tension the chain /do not overtighten the chain.
also be sure you put the new chain and blade on the same as the old one that comes off trying to cut with a chain that is on backward does not work. last note if you are replacing the blade because the old one is dull take the saw to a saw shop they can sharpen the exsisting chain and save you money.

I would say the fuel in the tank is either stale or has too much, or incorrect oil mixed with it, drain the tank, rinse it out a couple of times with a fresh fuel/oil mix, now fill with fresh fuel/oil mixed at 50-1 and try again.
