What is A5 on our frididare dehumidifier?
Hello Friend, this is Z. I am happy to assist you!
If you are receiving an error code AS on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, it typically means that your dehumidifier is experiencing a sensor failure. Because it is a smaller appliance, repairs are often more costly than the actual appliance replacement. Is your appliance still in warranty? If so, you might want to reach out directly to the manufacturer to determine the coverage on your dehumidifier and the procedures to any potential remedy in that regard. Best of luck!

What should I do when the air filter light comes on?
Good Afternoon Friend, that's a great question!
Typically the FILTER RESET light will illuminate after 250 hours of operation. To locate the filter, remove the bucket and the pull filter downwards. The filter can be clean by using clean water or vacuum cleaner extension hose. If you use clean water, please allow the filter to dry. Once you reinstalled the filter then replace the bucket. To extinguish the light simply press the FILTER button and your dehumidifier should resume normal operations. Remember it is best to clean your filter every two weeks based on normal operating conditions. Hope this helps! - Z

How to measure humidity in a room
Good Afternoon Friend,
I understand that you want to know how to measure the humidity in a room with your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FDL50R1. Typically, your appliance will not measure the humidity and tell you exactly what the level is. I suggest placing your dehumidifier in the room you want it in, and turning it on to the continuous mode. The display will show "CO". Leave it at this setting for the first 3-4 days. Once the 3-4 days has passed, I suggest setting it to the 50%, 60%, or 70% setting and change it to your liking. If it is more humid in the room than you would like, put the setting lower. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
-Best Regards-

Dehumidifier reads 30% no matter
Hello there,
Your guess is right as to what the cause of the problem is. The relative humidity (RH) sensor is faulty and need to be replaced. That is why it is stuck on 30%. When the RH is faulty, the compressor will not run. And the dehumidifier will not do anything.
Hope the moisture collected in the bucket is removed, becuse that also could be a cause of the problem. If the bucket that collects moisture is full, the sensor will send a message to the compressor and have it shut down automatically till the bucket is empty.
Once it is confirmed that the moisture collecting bucket is empty and it is still not reading anything other than 30%, then that confirms the problem to be from the RH sensor.
Hope this helped.
All the best.

THe hose attached to the humidifier does not reain
No, you didn;t miss anything. The drain tubing inside the hose connection on the back of the unit may be clogged. To solve this problem, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then disconnect the hose from the hose connection.
Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic
Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connection & tubing.
Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will
need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either
bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip
Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs.
As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water
may follow.Reconnect the hose to the unit , plug the unit in and turn the Master
ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or
Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run,
while you monitor the hose end for water flow. It may take 10 to 15 minutes for the water to start flowing, so be patient. Also, be sure the hose you're using is no longer than 48". Drainage relies entirely on gravity.
NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers.
Hope this helped you to solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

My Frigidaire dehumidifier model FDL70S1has
All most all dehumidifiers have a defrost cycle to take care of this problem. However, yours is either not working or the air intake filter is clogged, which makes the unit strain to keep up. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit, before attempting to remove the filter. Allow the unit to thaw while it's unplugged. Once it's completely thawed, plug the unit back in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set your controls as you normally do. Within in an hour or two, you will know if this solved the problem. Also, keep in mind, dehumidifiers are designed only to work in temperatures above 41 degrees. If it's below that where you have the unit, that will cause it to freeze up.
With all that said, what you're seeing as the Error Code is in fact, AS (the 'S' looks a lot like a 5 on the LED screen) It indicates a Sensor Failure. In your case, it's more than likely the Defrost Cycle Sensor. The Owners Manual says "Contact your local Authorized Frigidaire Service Center, if this happens. I'm hoping that cleaning the filter (if needed) and allowing the unit to reset itself (while it's OFF & Unplugged) will solve the problem. But, it may only be a band aide fix.
Hope this helped you.

Wont collect water compressor comes
Hello llamermike.
Do you hear a click about 30 or 40 seconds after it shuts off? If so, that means the compressor is trying to start but can't. Either there is a leak of the freon that caused the compressor to overheat, or the compressor just gave up.
All you can do is check your warranty to see if it is still coved. If you're into the second through fifth year of ownership it might say that they will pay for parts, but not labor. Labor will be more than the cost of two or three new units.
If it is time to go shopping, and you find a unit that you like, you could call an appliance shop that is factory authorized on many different brands and ask the shop tech what brand he sees the least. And, check other sources on the web if you like, but the folks who work on them are the best source of reliable info, in my opinion.
Based on the information supplied, that is my opinion. Also check warranties on the new units.
Good luck.
