Honeywell International Signature Series Triple Tower Fan Questions & Answers
Honeywell air cleaners, can you prevent or repair motors from freezing up?
Oiling the shaft will help considerably, but remember the shaft has two ends and two bearings. People forget about the one at the end of the motor, the other end from the fan which is often hidden. Also motors come in different qualities. Makers tend to go from cheap to mid range as they only have to last the period of the warranty. If you can get a quality motor in the same fitting with ball bearing races, they will basically last forever.
I have a Honeywell 18 inch Commercial grade floor fan, how do I put the fan cage back on the stand?
Hi. These are not bad to reassemble. Do you still have the rubber bushings and related hardware? Since the stand is lighter than the cage. Lay the cage face down and place the metal tubular stand in the correct position. Rotate the stand so the opening of the base (Touching the floor) faces the front side of the fan. Slide the flat washer onto the bolt, place the rubber bushing between the cage and the stand, align the holes and slide the bolt into place and tighten until snug. Repeat the same procedure on the other side, test, and tighten both bolts until bushing correctly supports fan from tilting freely.
Hy108tgt
Our HY-108 (not a HY-108TGT) does not have a filter when it was purchased new from a Retailer.
IMHO, Honeywell/KAZ designed these Tower Fans to be disposable if they fail to work or need cleaning.
These Fans are hard to disassemble for service or maintenance, OEM replacement Parts are unavailable to the general public, service documentation is hard to find, and the Tower Fans tend to have a short Product lifespan. THEY BREAK EASILY! The OEM Service Manual points to replacing complete parts assemblies because few electronics diagnostics and no schematics are provided.
The HY-108 case can start to be disassembled (I have done so on ours) by *First* removing the screws and separating/removing the plastic Base from the main Case assembly. *Second* remove the Phillips-Head screws on the back of the Case. *Third*, the internal plastic 6 Tabs that keep the 2 halves held together need to be gently separated - careful, they break easily. You need to gently loosen the internal plastic "Tabs" by using a thin flat-head screwdriver to gently and carefully separate the outer shell cover.
Fan fuse location
There are generally 2 Fuses associated with Honeywell or KAZ Tower Fans... One Fuse is in the Electrical Plug Connector and the other Fuse is on the main Circuit Board.
