Desa International White Wireless Plug In Door Chime - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Battery type for WL-4A push button unit
Question moved from Computers category.
The easy answer is the same as the one that is in it. Impossible to tell you without full 'make model (what it is)'. A quick search makes me think you are referring to wireless door chimes?
For the push button unit, my guess is that it will be a single AAA, a CR123, or a couple of LR44.
Google search
make model replace battery
or
make model manual
will find it.

Setting the codes for the door chime
Presuming that you are asking how to set codes for the Desa International door chime, here's a solution:
There are two components of the Desa door chime --- the ringer assembly and the door button. Inside each component is a set of eight pairs of pins and several square-ish plastic jumpers. To set a code, you must push jumpers onto the pair of pins for each of three different numbers. (You may find that you have more than three jumpers. If so, the others are spares which you can tell because they will only be covering one of the two pins in a pair.) Whatever three numbers you choose, the ringer and button must match exactly. 5-6-7 seems to be the default set-up as delivered from the factory. This is only a problem if anyone else in the neighborhood also has a Desa chime with this setting. If you use pin 8, the ring changes from a two-tone chime to a 16-note sequence.
Good luck!

Doorbell doesn't work
It seems your doorbell transmitter got wet and corroded the contacts. These push buttons are not sealed at all and thus will let rain, snow etc. eventually corrode the electronics.Solution: Find a new push button on eBay.Cheers

Doorbell doesn't work
Have you tried to bring the remote (Push button) into the house and go to where the receiver is located and see if it works. It can be hard to see the battery polarity positions in the remote. Check to be sure that the battery is in correctly. If you cannot bring the remote into the house, try relocating the receiver to a receptacle closer to the entry. If all this fails, try buying a replacement remote (button) and matching the code pin settings.

Doorbell stopped working
Check the contactor in the doorbell. It may have some "yuk" on it preventing it from making contact.

Phantom bell rings on Siemens wirreless door bell
You may need to change the frequency of the chime. In this model, you need to remove the batteries from the receiver unit and wait for a while. Then replace the batteries. The doorbell unit should automatically set itself to a different frequency once you press the button, which will(hopefully) solve the problem. It seems impossible to find the instruction manual for the doorbell. But see
http://oddsnsods.net/blog/?p=68 who had a similar problem with a different Siemens model, which works on the same principles. (I can't seem to be able to remove the battery from the door bell unit on the jsjs204, but it reset itself after changing the batteries in the receiver).

I have a IQ America doorbell with 5 chimes and 5
We had a similar problem with a wired doorbell. There is a diode in the doorbell itself that causes the chime to ring fully. If the diode is backwards, you get just a small tone and can only hear the full chime if you hold the button down. If this sounds like your problem, open up the doorbell at the button end (or have an electrician do it) and reverse the diode.

Wireless doorbell rings by itself
Doorbell button is sticking or slightly pressed in. Check to see if cover is installed correctly. It may be on on one side.
