Most cameras now have a Firewire port, sometimes called DV OUT. Buy you a firewire cable and plug it into your computer. If your computer does not have a firewire port a card can be purchased. Sometimes they are labeled as a 1394 card. You will need some sort of capture program such as Pinnacle Studio to capture your video to your computer.

Our sons dropped our Camcorder
The most likely cause for this is a zoom or focus lens out of place or impaired in some way. This will require disassembling the camera to remove the lens assembly and then disassembling the lens block to repair. This can be done fairly inexpensively but it's not really a user serviceable problem and should be repaired by a qualified service technician.

Hi there,
I have changed
I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing in transferring videos from the Camcorder to the Computer without using the supplied CD ROM. Please note that the driver and software from the supplied CD ROM is not required to transfer videos from the Camcorder to the Computer.
Once you connect the Camcorder to the computer, the Camcorder will recognize as a removable drive under My Computer. You can copy the required videos from the Removable drive.
Please follow the below guidelines for connecting the Camcorder to the Computer.
Once you connect the Camcorder to the Computer, you will get a display to select the media. Select Either HDD or SD card from the option shown in the LCD screen.
You will get the removable drive under My Computer. Please see the below picture to view the folder structure.
I hope the information helpful. Please let me know if you require further assistance.
Thanks for using Fixya.

The most likely cause for this is a damaged or defective flexible ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the camera body and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.
My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.
If this response has been of any help to you, please be sure and give a positive vote for me on FixYa.com.

We borrowed our friends video
Hi,
The problem is Windows Media Player can only play a select number of types of video. If you download something like VLC Player,
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ which is free from their website, you'll be able to play the video you reordered on the camcorder no problem. If you need anymore help let me know =)
