Camcorder will not recognize disk
make sure disc in incerted correct way, and is propper disc type, check head is clean and door is shutting corectly is all i can think can be wrong
I need to take what i recorded and put on my
Since the camcorder records on Mini DVD+/-R and RW, and SD/MMC cards, just eject the media from the camcorder and insert it into the appropriate drive on your computer. Open the burning software of your choice (which you may or may not already own) and follow the directions for burning the files with that software. If the disks are DVD RW or SD/MMC delete the files after burning is complete. Even though the manual states that it will work with DVD-R, the camcorder seems to have issues finalizing these particular formats, so I recommend using DVD+R and DVD+RW. I hope this helps and good luck. Please vote appropriately and leave a comment.
My camcorder doesnt charge up properly
Is the charging of the battery part of the camera or is it a separate charger? Meaning you remove the battery from the camera and install it into the charger to charge. Of course, if the charge is not full when both batteries have been on the charger, then the charger is at fault. Also, considering that you have also put a new battery on the same charger and the problem is still the same, then the charger is (again) at fault. You can try and send the charger to the retailer for inspection or, better still, take the whole camera and get it checked. Bad batteries or charger can cause more trouble to both the batteries or the camera.
Playing dvd's from camcorder on laptop...
I have this video camera. It seemed like a good deal at $200 at Christmas time. It is suppose to be able to record on DVD-R, +R disks. (re-writable and write disks) I have had issues with not being able to finalize the disk. I found you needed to keep at least 5 minutes on the disk to finalize it. It will not play in any DVD player or a Computer till it is finalized. The info stored on the disk is in RAW form. Finalizing it will create a "lead in" and "lead out" and a menu for your computer and/or DVD player to understand. A large part of whether it will play or not, is what is your DVD Player or DVD Drive on you computer capable of? DVD Players usually will play anything that has been finalized, same with your DVD drive on your computer. BUT! Yep there's a but, sorry. DVD players and DVD Drives sometimes can only read one type of disk. Either a DVD-R or DVD+R, some may not be able to read a re-writable disk too. Look through your manuals on your Laptop and your DVD Player(s) and try to match the correct media (i.e. DVD-R or DVD+R Write or Re-Writable) I found that between my PC and my DVD Player, that DVD+R would work without a hitch for both electonics. Download that software that Samsung gave you in with the video camera. It may end up loading the driver software to help you're computer to recognize the video DVD you are trying to play.
Oh, and make sure you really do have a DVD player/burner drive installed. I went to play a movie on my wife's Laptop and found it came with a CD drive and no DVD drive. That's not what I ordered and I was about a year to late to complain to the company. :( Hope that helps.
Can't finalize disc
is that a 30-min disc??maybe you used up the whole 30 min that's why you cant finalize it..you should have at least 5min remaining tike on the disc
Can not import film to PC.
I have a partial solution for those whose files come up as audio. connect your camera via USB. Windows Movie Player should recognize the camera when you select capture device. When you have your camera selected hit next. Put the file in My Video and title it. When you are ready too capture video Hit play on you camera while in the review screen. The Movie Maker will then capture your video as it plays in the camera.
What are the steps in transferring the videos using Firewire?
Try starting Windows Movie Maker. It will have a import function that will talk to your camcorder attached Firewire. You will need Movie Maker or some other video editing software to import your tapes into your PC.

I don't know how put the night light to recor in dark places
There is no night recording feature for the Samsung SC-DX103 model nor does it have a video light, I just purchased one from Circuit City on 12/8/08 and I might return it because being able to record in low light situations is a must have for camcorders.
The finalize dvd won't play on my dvd player
Hi there and welcome to FixYa.
To ctinajero: Make sure your computer has MPEG2 codec to play it in your computer. You can find it here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/stinky_mpeg_2_codec.htm
Try that and see if it plays.
To dickandsandy:
Your computer won't allow you to move the file (your video) while windows has it open and playing the video. Stop the playback exit the program your playing it with.
Go to Start, then choose Computer and find the DVD listed in your drives. Double click the drive and a folder will open with your video listed there. Simply highlight it, right click your mouse and choose copy. Open another folder on your C drive (make a new one if you want to) and paste it in the new folder. Done!
Let me know if either of you has any problems.
Rob
