In rare cases, your TomTom ONE/XL/XXL navigation device may not start correctly

or may stop responding to your taps.

First, check that the battery is properly charged. To charge the battery, connect

your device to the car charger. It can take up to 2 hours to fully charge the

battery.

If this does not solve the problem, you can reset the device. To do this, press

and hold the On/Off button for 15 seconds and release the button when your
device begins to restart.

Before you use your ONE/XL/XXL for the first time, it's a good idea to charge

it fully.

The battery in your TomTom ONE/XL/XXL navigation device charges when

you connect it to the car charger or to your computer.

There is no charging light on your ONE/XL/XXL. To check the battery status

and see when your ONE/XL/XXL is charging, switch on your device and tap

the bottom right-hand corner of the screen in the Driving View. The battery

status is shown on the next page.

When you connect your device to a computer, you are asked if you want to

connect to the computer. If you select No and then do not tap the screen

within three minutes, the device will automatically switch off. This happens so
that the battery can charge faster.

Note: You should plug the USB connector directly into a USB port on your
computer and not into a USB hub or USB port on a keyboard or monitor.

touch the screen where the gps signal meter is then touch where it says v7.xx v8.xx v9.xx that appears on the new screen then i will give you the serial and version numbers

Looks like the touch screen may need replacement. There is a third party tomtom Repair service that will replace the part. If you want to do it yourse, there is a tomtom repair guide , the screen is available on ebay.

This feature is only available on your navigation device. You cannot use this feature in TomTom HOME.

1. The easiest way to set the time is by tapping the Sync button. Your navigation device will then take the UTC time and date from GPS information.
   Note: You can only use Sync if you have GPS reception, so you cannot set the clock in this way when you are indoors.
   
   
2. Adjust the hours depending on your time zone. Your navigation device works out your time zone and always keeps the time correct using GPS information. You only need to adjust the daylight-saving time.

tap map screen, the tap change preference. then scroll to page 5 i think. then there is a icon that says hide tips.

Just unplug from the car, or ther should be a slide switch on the top of the unit to turn it off.

You can download the clearflash tool from TomTom, and try using it. It may or may not be your problem.

You don't need to put a space in the postcode on a Tom Tom. Just type it all in one line.

try updating with the latest GPSfix updates via the tomtom home software

it means that cars are not allowed along the road.

It sounds like the TomTom isn't able to boot up. This may be due to a software or data issue. Have you tried to (use HOME on your computer to) connect to the TomTom server ? to update the software/data, and/or tried to restore the software / data with the (previously) backed-up copy (that you had previously saved on your computer) ?
