Acer 22" X223w LCD Monitor - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Assuming windows PC.. First, check the wire connectors are solid. Turn everything off and remove then replace all connections. Look for the speaker icon in your task bar. Bottom right of screen. Might be in the hidden icons box, right click on the speaker and choose settings from the popup menu. Wording may be different on diff versions, check to see the right set of speakers are selected. Sometimes plugging in ear phones, for example will change settings, and unplugging defaults to something else.

Flat cable inside of the monitor is bad. that's happen when things are not used for months or years, Water condezation is damaging the cable or board!

hi Samuel. this is all i could find from the internet. You can try a power reset to see if that helps. To do a power reset, unplug the power cable and press and hold the power key for 10 seconds. Then, release the power key and plug the monitor in and attempt to use it. If you are still unable to get a proper display, We would suggest contacting technical support to inquire about warranty repair options. Many of our monitors carry a 3 year warranty, so there is a chance you may still have warranty left. Acer Service and Support you could also try this link out. test with dvi cable or other vga cable first. sometimes bios may cause this problem.

Why don't you contact Acer and pose that question to them?

There should be buttons somewhere on your monitor...one named 'Menu' there you should click on an option to change the positioning or horizontal/vertical then follow the instructions...usually the arrow keys...to move the frame to where you need it...hope I helped!

you need click on your monitor options down on your sys tray in the right hand corner, right click and there will be your options on rotating your screen

Does your video-card allow you to set a resolution of 1680 by 1050?
(This is exactly 16 pixels horizontally for each 10 pixels vertically.)
This is the "native" resolution of the X223W monitor.

If not, pick a supported resolution that keeps the 16-to-10 ratio.

You would only need that cable if the other end requires a VGA end. Happy Holidays

That is normal condition, yellow = no video signal from PC since PC is off or PC in standby mode.

The backlight controller has failed. It can be repaired or replaced.

You need to change the monitor type. If you open the display settings and then setting tab-advanced-monitor you see a properties button. Click that and then the driver tab on the new window. What you need to do is go to Acers website und get the "INF" or driver file for your monitor. download and save this file. Then go back to the drivers window and click the reinstall drivers button and then point it towards the file you downloaded. This file lets windows know what settings the monitor can use. After that is installed and you go back to the settings window you should find that the allowed display resolutions have changed. You should be able to change it to one the monitor displays properly now.

That can be the soldering joint at the lamp assembly is bad. It will cause the inverter circuits to go into shutdown mode. You should also inspect the power supply caps also.
