I didn't get the software with the camera when i bought it at the pawn shop. My computer is picking up the camera in port e/ it's just not letting me import the movies.

You need to installed JVC supplied software cd for this camcorder and that software cd is available in JVC Accessories Store for $30 or so. It is not available over internet for free.
Click JVC Accessories Store, put model number in search bar at left side and see list of accessories for your camcorder. If above link found down, please try it later.
hope this info will help you.

This happened to me. I know the solution. I uninstalled everio mediabrowser program that came on cd with the camcorder. The result was that I could not hear the sound when I played my videos. If you install Everio Mediabrowser again, the audio will play.

Yes, if you go to the JVC site and under "support" you should find "downloads" in there you'll find your manual to download as a "pdf." file.

It may be a bad ribbon cable or connection, or a faulty component such as resistor or capacitor on the unit that lets it charger. You can also update the software if needed

hey i have also had the same problem, but mine was as simple as dodgy dvd's. i bought about 25 in bulk and that same code ff037303 came up with about 10 of them. even when i tried to create dvd in another program it got to 98% then stopped. go and buy new dvds and try again. great camcorder though.

That is because the Dell has a different rated USB to the camera. Dell use High Speed US=B and your camera is the early type .

This isn't a solution specific to your problem, but maybe similar enough to help. I've dropped both my cell phone and iPod in the water. My friend told me to fill a bowl with uncooked rice and submerge the cell phone in the rice to draw out the water - took about 2 days and all was working fine - same with the iPod, but it took longer (about a week.) You might want to gently clean the battery connections with a Q-tip if you're seeing residue. Good luck!

The software that you did not get usually isn't necessary. MACs just recognize and download the files, especially easy if they're quicktime. I have a Sanyo digital video camera, and Nikon & Canon still cameras. I never install their software because I can use much better stuff like IMOVIE or IPHOTO and Photoshop. Just plug it in. Drag it to the desktop once your MAC recognizes it.

if you're confident in your ability to strip down such a delicate piece of kit:

get a bottle of pure acetone (molar, not nail polish remover - this contains lanolin which will destroy the electronics) and use it to displace the water and mineral deposits contained therein from the boards, then after ensuring the entire surface of every component is bone dry, reassemble.

If you're not so confident, find someone who's mad enough to try.
