Coby MP705R Digital Media Player Questions & Answers
Mp705-4g freezes up
to restart the player just hold the power slider to turn off/on and press the reset button on the back
It will not charge when i plug it in
Let's isolate the problem.
We have to confirm if your unit is working properly just by trying any charger that will fit to your unit or try it in the usb slot in your computer.
If you confirmed that it is quite in good condition then the trouble is in your charger.
Sometimes the fault is fixable but I've rather suggest you to buy another charger to avoid hassle.
If you confirm that the unit is faulty then you have to send it for repair. But I'm not sure if you have a local repair shop that will repair your unit. Jusy try it.

My coby mp705 wont play the avi videos i put on it
Hi. You must remember that your player will only support XviD-encoded AVI files with the following specifications:
If the conversion fails to set the encoder at the noted above specs, the
player will not play that particular video. Use the video conversion
software utility that was included on the installation disk to
create/convert video files that are suitable for playback on your
player. Also, be sure to update the player firmware, as well. Check the
coby website periodically for update at www.cobyusa.com
- NOTE_ If you are sure that the video meets the standards and specification of the player and you have converted the video, properly, this will lead to a player fault. This may be corrected by resetting the device. Reset the device by using a paper clip to gently press the reset button on the rear of the player and try to play the video again.

Pictures onto the coby mp705?
I found the easiest way is to open the MediaManager to the
photos section
open folder with photos
drag and drop the ones you want to use
it will ask if you want to add them
click yes.
wait until they are added to MManager
Highlight them (Edit/Select All)
right click on one of the pictures select synchronize
I also reduced my photos to 160x128 pixels so they don't take up much room - 71 photos = 2.5 MB
Also used the same method for adding video and music. Which is nice with music because when you add new music those titles are highlighted already. Then right click on one of the new songs, choose synchronize.
COBY MP705: Adding music, film and data files - Windows
Microsoft Windows
Double-click the “My Computer” icon on your desktop
and then double-click the icon that represents
your Coby player (e.g., MP-705) (MTP Multimedia
Player).
Your player contains two folders: Data and Media.
-
Drag your media files to the Media folder (e.g., MP3, WMA files).
-
Drag all other types of files to the Data folderfor storage.
Data files are only visible from a computer; these files will not be available from
within the player itself.
Erasing files
connect it to the computer
go to windows media player
go to sync
make sure that the mp4 player is connected (by looking to the side and it says coby mp705 and it shows how much space is left)
look to the left side of the media player...(where it says artists, playlists, songs, albums)
there should be a coby 705 section
if its closed open it
go to artists or songs and right click on the song or artist you want to take out...and press delete
