Lens control error
Hello
Thank you for using FixYa for your problem
Sorry but the Zoom Lens has had a knock, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Protected card. How do I 'un-protect' it?
Hello
OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might
sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the
memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.
If
the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to
try the card in another camera.
If
the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader
in your camera.
If you open you sd slot and look inside with a
sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot
there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work
as follows:
1. When no card is inserted / no write protection ,
the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked
card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the
card is lock.
Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the
sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence
the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera
without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card
normally.
It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because
of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you
can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the
base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to
bend it.
If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a
short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled
to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.

My camera's lens will not extend from it's
This is a known issue with many of the Fuji cameras caused by dust and
dirt
that get in through the loosely mounted lens mechanism, there are really
only
three solutions.
- If under warranty you can send the camera in for repair.
- Saturate
around the lens with WD40 and wiggle the lens until it
becomes responsive again every month or so.
- Dismantle the camera and clean out and lubricate around the internal
gear-box
and lens components about once a year. This is a pretty intensive process.
Why Fuji film digital camera cannot put date on PC screen
The pics actually have the date and a lot of other information stored with them. If you right click the pic and choose properties, you'll get some of the info. If you open the pic in a photo editing program, you can get the shutter speed, lens opening, etc. Also, in a photo editing program like Photoshop Elements, you can add the date to the pic as text.
Fuji Finepix F100fd photos shutdown Microsoft explorer in XP
It may be good to make sure that you have updated your computer operating system software.
Usually you can get nice picture viewers and other software to edit pictures which are open source and free to use.
Make sure you have the latest MS explorer installed for your operating system.
Also check the amount of memory your computer has installed. With a minimum of memory, you may get this reaction. You should have over 1 gigabyte installed for graphics.
If you are using the newer 64 bit Windows operating systems, you probably need more than 1 gigabyte of memory to make it work correctly.
White balance and blur underwater
You are not doing anything wrong with your white balance, white balance is very difficult under water, and you should be careful, because your mask might be tinted a certain color, I reccommend leving you white balance normal, then adjusting in photoshop, take a white object down there and hold it over a non important part of the picture, to help with adjusting in photoshop, then crop the object out of the final image. Focusing underwater is difficut as well, as dater distorts light, there is nothing that you can do to keep the water from distorting the light, but if you go to apeture priorities, you can increase your apeture to between f7.2 and f11 to reduce blur (to keep the picture from being too dark and the shutter from being too slow, you can increade your ISO)
Focus error finepix hs10
About the HS10 autofocus problem, I discovered the cause and solution. It is a problem of camera design, and is caused by three screws securing the CCD sensor. These screws are not properly secured and the vibration eventually dropping.
In two cameras with the same defect, the screws were loose. These screws adjust the sensor position relative to the lens and the sensor is loose when out of position not allowing proper focus.
The solution is to disassemble the camera and secure the screws.
These screws can not be too tight they need to be adjusted to position the CCD sensor correctly. The camera is difficult to dismantle because several wires are soldered.
Care must be taken to discharge the capacitor of the flash, this may cause an electric shock and burn the camera board.
Those who want to try the repair, follow the link to the service manual.

I have a FinePix S1 and the display screen is not working. All other modes are working but no display
Many occasions LCD on camera display never fails but back light fails unless physical damage to LCD screen. Hold a torch to display when camera is on you will see faint(black and white) image means LCD is ok but back light is failed, it's replaceable but needs little skill to replace. Or replace full Screen with backlight. This is easy. Just remove back cover, remove display by loosening flex lock, put back new display carefully lock it holding flex with one finger. Please do not touch display flex contacts.
