Hi there,
Sometimes it so happens that our PC forgets that it has been connected to a certain device. probably a virus might have caused that. You can uninstall the driver and perform a fresh install.

This link covers it in several posts.That code always relates to a paper jam,or an ink cleaning problem.All of it,you can do yourself.

There must be problem with your cartridges carriage, please open up the printer from the top and check the cartridges, slide them back and forth and look inside very carefully, even a small piece of paper or hair, etc.. can cause this problem.

You don't need to do anything to set the printer up except to tell it you have heavier stock than normal.

Your answer lies in the program you are using to print labels. Please tell me which program you are using and what other office type programs you have on the computer and I will try to give you a viable solution.

In page setup, in the Duplex section, check Duplex and Automatic, and then select Short-side stapling (Right). I had the same problem, and this solution worked for me.

Hi,

- Go to "Windows 7" Start Menu, Control Panel, System and Security and Administrative Tools.
- Double click on Services icon.
- Scroll down to the "Print Spooler" service, right-click on it and choose Stop.
- Navigate to the following directory: Start>Computer,
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS
- And delete the everything inside of this folder. Do NOT delete the folder itself, just the everything (the subfolders,files) inside of it.
-Go back to the Services window as you did above and right click on the Print Spooler service and choose Start.
- Restart the computer.
- Print a test page.

Yellow cartridge is clogged or bad. If yellow is not being out put then it will throw the other colors off. You could print a yellow, light blue, magenta (pinkish) , and black squares using MS paint or other paint program. This will narrow down which cartridge has a problem.

I would try replacing the magenta cartridge first. If it still doesn't print magenta after a cleaning then you can replace the print head, its located here:

The print head mechanism should slide freely and smoothly so the printer can park the head properly.

Remove the screws in each corrosponding side panel, 2 screws in front (open the top cover to unclip the front cover, the screws are behind the gray panel) and 2 screws at the back of the printer. The front screws are behind the grey front panel of the printer - open the top cover to see the clips which hold the front cover on.

There is a white sliding mechanism that the print head rests/parks when not in use. Lubricate the slider with some white grease or oil. Be careful not to get it on the small black caps.

Do you have more than one PC connected to the scanner? I have both a PC and a Mac connected to it, and I think my scanner is trying to connect to the Mac, which requires image capture software to be installed, rather than the PC. Don't know how to tell it to go to the PC, though...

Performing Maintenance:




Note :
Be sure to install the ink tanks in the correct order indicated by the label on the Print Head Holder. The machine will not print if an ink tank is installed in the incorrect position.
Step 1
Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern.




If lines are missing or if white streaks appear


Step 2
Print Head Cleaning.

If the problem is not resolved after performing Print Head Cleaning twice


After cleaning the Print Head, print and examine the nozzle check pattern (Step 1) again.


Step 3
Print Head Deep Cleaning.



If Print Head Deep Cleaning does not resolve the problem, turn off the machine and perform another Print Head Deep Cleaning after 24 hours. If the problem is still not resolved and if you are sure that the ink didn't run out, then the Print Head may be damaged. Contact your Canon service representative.

Make sure the printer is powered on, then open the cover. If the cartridges don't move to the center within 30 seconds or so, the printer may need service.

You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.
