I Own This Unit And I Tell You What I Love It And Cant See Myself Using A Computer Anytime Soon. You Can Open It Up And Check For Loose Connections By Removing The Screws Shown Here

Youll Wanna Remove The Disk Drive Cover First Indicated By The Blue Dots. Once Inside There Arent Many Connections To Check But Now You Can Unplug The Hard Drive And Try Powering The Unit On Again. See If You Get The Same Result. Once Thats Done Plug The Hard Drive Back In And Try Again To See If It Works.
If It Doesn't Call Roland Theyre Costumer Support Is Awesome And They Can At least Give You An Idea Of What May Be Wrong.

Boss BR900CD External MIDI

I'm not totally familiar with that Boss Digital Audio Workstation but it sounds like what you want to do is record both the music and vocal track at the same time. If that's the case I believe you can push both "Line" and "Mic" input buttons (perhaps not exactly named as such) at the same time to record both simultaneously. Otherwise I would suggest copying the music to it's own stereo track (or two individual tracks, each panned opposite from one another to maintain stereo) and then record your vocal track separately. That way you can record several takes and edit down the best parts to one final track. I hope that helps.

Mu-tron Biphase

They should be commercial screws, probably metric. You would need to find out the pitch (with a gauge), diameter, length and head type from one of the other screws. Usually all Boss products share parts, so the parts could be scavenged from an old, useless pedal. The missing knob, too. As for the internals and electronics, take it to a tech. Amp techs sometimes accept checking pedals.

Boss BR 8...I insert the 100 mb disk, then asks to

If the disk had data put on with a PC you might try deleting all files and folders using the PC before formatting the disk in the BR8.

It is also possible that the media has gone bad.

A final try would be to degauss the disk and try to format on the BR8.

"Card Full" error when the card is in fact empty...

I had the same issue, and ended up solving it after trying many different things. So first you put the card in your reader, right click, and hit "format...". It should ask you if it's ok to erase everything. Say yes.

Then put the card in the recorder, and it should say "Unformatted". Hit Utility and TR4 to Initialize. That should do the trick. Hope that helps!

BR-1180 Cd will not burn CD's does it call for

Don't know if this unit is sensitive to the type of CD, but my Phillips recorders will ONLY burn the "Music CD's" (harder to find, more expensive). Read up on the difference of regular vs Music CD's. ALSO some recorders will not burn disks rated at lower or higher rates.

The memory card says unformatted card

Refer to your BR manual for procedure to format the card. Formatting the card in a PC just doesn't cut it.

Look in your index in the manual for "formatting" or "card"...etc.

I can't hear anything from my boss micro br

I asssume you have ti connected to a mixer/amplifier as you have to have some sort of sound reproduction system connected. If you are going through a computer, you have the computer settings set improperly.

MY Boss br 1180 ,disk error

before you go out and buy a new hd try intializing your system.
unfortunaly you will lose all saved info, but you will either way. this test may save you some money.
with your 1180 in the off position press and hold the track 5 button below the fader and the redo/undo button that is just to the left of the rotarty knob and below the power button. while holding these two buttons press the power button and continue to hold the track 5 button and the undo redo buttons untill the test menu is showing. its takes about 15- 30 sec. in the test menu rotate the value knob till you see 23 initialize HDD and press ok. this process may take up to 30 mins. if this doesnt fixya then contact roland for a replacement.

Ive just bought a faulty

It is impossible for us to know what damage may have been done... Repair on this would likely involve changing of surface mounted components which takes a lot of skill. This is probably going to require repair at the factory.
