Peavey Pv 2600 Power Amplifier Questions & Answers
What is the replacement of transistor d1915
IS that a 2SD1915 or something else, it looks like an 2SA1022 or NTE2407crosses - Newark Electronics or Mouser might be able to provide you a different cross reference. There are data sheets that seem to indicate a A1022 / NTE 2407 - this one can be found here
http://www.mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?Keyword=2SA1022 Amplifier Transistor - these are common I think for older amplifiers. If memory serves me right - I probably have a couple old ones I bought to fix a Reel to Reel .
How to connect subs and mains to the same pv2600
This will depend on your Subs. If they have an inbuilt crossover there will be input and outputs on the rear, with the output marked something like 'tops' or 'Output to HF'
If you have these then it should be a simple matter of connecting yout amp to the subs and then the mains to the output.
If you haven't got a crossover in the subs then you will either need to buy a pair of two way crossovers for the right power and frequency and have these in the speaker wiring or use the amp's inbuilt crossover and run one channel for tops and the other for subs. You will lose stereo but the amp will happily drive a 2ohm load so you should still be able to use all four speakers.
My peavey amp pv 2600 only plays on channel A. No output on the B side
Hello,Check the "BRIDGE" switch position, "IN" for "BRIDGE", "OUT" for "STEREO", and clean ALL back switches with a cleaning spray and then run the amp again, also check the two green lights activation at front, if they activate, then amp is certainly working, let me know further.
How do I wire up my 4subs in bridged to my peace 2600
Hi,Please state the subs impedance, but assuming 4 subs with 8Ohm Voice Coil you CAN'T run them in parallel in Bridge Mono because this amp's minimum impedance is 4Ohm in bridge and 2Ohm stereo, maybe a series/parallel connection work, but what's the advantage to run them in Bridge mode? This amp delivers 900W per channel at 4Ohm, you can run a pair paralleled for each channel in a safe way and without the high-risk of your amp being destroyed, besides, amp power at 4Ohm Bridged is NOT recommended for continuous use, let me know your results...
Volume ports
Hello, It maybe the pots but i strongly recommend that first clean all back switches including the Bridge/Stereo switch which it has to be outwards to stereo listening, then let me know your results to help you out more.
Power trips
HelloThe set need a through checkup. It has some internal short circuit, that trips the protection delay. It is a skilled work, and you need sound knoledge in electronics to follow. If you have, open the set and check its power supply section.
Why my amp is protecting after 4 hours
Soft start relay circuitry fail, take apart the top plate and when you turn the amp on check for a "Click" in the power supply relay, if not there's your issue.
My pv2000 amp stop working on one side
Please add more background, which channel stop working? As a blind advice, try to clean ALL back switches, including Stereo/Bridge Switch, let me know your results.
How do i connect this amp to my powered mixer (
Using TRS (balanced audio interconnect cables) go from the main output on the top of the panel to your amp inputs. MAKE SURE the amp is powered from the same receptacle as the mixer to avoid ground bounce and possiblle damage to your units.
Cut out on one occassion & how often does amp
Hopefully not often. They are very complicated in design. Keep ALL airflow paths clean and if in a cabinet, give adequate air movement... use a fan if necessary to vent the cabinet. The unit has a string of diodes to adjust the quiescent current in the power amp and if you overheat the unit it will try to protect itself by shutting down.
