I had this problem, talked to a Dell support person for two hours with no success. Went to bed, next morning, I powered the desktop off (not restart) with the power button. The first time, the DVD drive cranked up but didn't eject the disk. The second time I powered it off and then on again, the DVD drive ejected the disk.

I am not going to take credit for information but here the link. Please read, removing the CMOS battery will never solve it nor replacing it.

You can try and pull the CMOS battery, but that will require taking the laptop apart. It's not something I recommend the average user try if they are not comfortable with computers.
