That could be a problem with the heatsink/fan assembly on the processor. It sounds like the processor is starting up, getting warm as they do, the fan starts up but does not cool efficiently enough and forces a shut down due to heat.
Clean out the fan assembly and replace the old heatsink compound on the processor heat sink.

The battery might be damage for the time of use or maybe you put in a inadecuate space, the computer works perfectly without the battery but if it doesnt occure and the computer dont works with out the battery and the charger dont supply the energy of the pc maybe you can try with a new battery and a new charger if it doesnt solve the problem your internal hardware is damage or your software is corrupted or damage too.

Hi sheppardr,
You need to Update the Wireless LAN Driver in the Computer to fix this issue. You can download and install the Update from the below link to fix the issue with the Wireless Network.

Please download the file to a folder in the Computer. Then, please open the folder where the files is downloaded and double click on it to begin the installation. Please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation. After installing the Update, please restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect. This should fixit.
If the issue persist, you can try updating the Driver using the "Intel Driver Update Utility".
To run the Intel Driver Update Utility, please open the below link in a new Web browser window.

Then, click the "Check you System for the latest Updates" button, you may need to install a add-in to begin the process. Please click the Yes button to install the Software. Then, the Update Utility will start searching for the Updates for the Device detected in your Computer.
This will show-up all the Updates for the Computer. Please download and install the Update for the Computer. Restart the Computer when Prompted.
This should fix the issue with the Wireless Networks.

if you already performed a recovery and you have the same problem, then it is a hardware problem. it could be a video card or memory card problem. if that is the case, your computer needs service. you can call sony for assistance
