Phoenix BIOS 93.13 how to enter expert mode?
Gateway and a few other companies has OC options disabled in BIOS. One option would probably be to use OC software like MSI Afterburner. The upside of this being that you don't potentially lose features by downgrading BIOS, but the trade off is that OC software is not as stable. The other would be downgrading BIOS to a prior version, which although may result in a loss of features available in 93.13 you have better stability and from what you have said it can already work.
Stuck in harbernation
you can't get stuck in hibernation. just do a hard reboot and if that doesn't work then do a safe mode boot up. If that doesn't work try booting up with the windows disk. finally if none of that works its your computer thats messed up not hibernation
Gateway MT6728 PC Notebook Disassemble
Hello Don Dumas,Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!To answer your question: This is a very time consuming process. The laptop will have to be taken completely apart, have the main board removed, and then the jack will have to be examined, finally the replacement part will have to be ordered and soldiered into place after removing the old jack. Let's not forget reassembly of the laptop again, and testing. This takes on average, 5 hours worth of work. I have done many of hey replacements.I recommend you find a laptop repair center you trust and that will offer a fair price for the work. If you were in the Grand Canyon area, I would do the work.Best wishes and good luck with your repair.
Mt6728 gateway laptop everything powers
Plug the laptop into an external monitor and see if the screen comes up. If it does than you have either a connection issue with the LCD display of the monitor or an issue with the graphics card of the monitor. Either way you might have to open it up and "re-seat" the connection or check if there are any damaged wires.

The PC freezes up after about 1 min 30 seconds
The only thing i can think of would be that you have to many start up programs, and the computer over loads after about that much time. You can disable start-up programs in safe mode. once in safe mode go to either run and type msconfig or in windows 7, go to the start menu and in the search bar type msconfig. then once the system configuration window pops up, go to the startup tab and disable any unnecessary programs. there should only be about 5 checked, which should be your anti virus and malware services, video card software, and any other essentials. everything else should be unchecked. and if you have any programs that say something like sfklajfowae of are in your temp folder that start, beware those programs as they can be harmful. hope this helps. goodluck
How do i remove optical drive?
You need to open up your Laptop's casing and remove parts until you reach the Optical Drive. Then you need to unscrew it or remove any clips from it, and then remove it carefully. That's on some laptops, but i should consult you to hire a professional to do this.
Computer seems to have died..
Hi
Thank you for your query
Please try the following
1) Change the fuse in the power supply plug
2) Remove all cables and battery from the laptop and then hold down the power button for 20 seconds (thats right there will be no power to the laptop) - this is to destat the laptop
3) Retry
4) If te above fails then the faults are as follows
1)Loose DC jack - this can be tested by plugging your power supply in and wiggling the DC jack if it is loose it will move alot
2) Faulty motherboard/CPU
For both the above i would not recommned you do the repair yourself, but book into a reputable PC shop
If this has been useful please leave postive feedback/vote
