Dell Inspiron 530s Desktop Computer Questions & Answers
I have a DELL Inspiron
Hi,
I'm downloading the PDF file of the motherboard's manual. Just want to make sure that we connect the wires to where they are supposed to be, although it's okay to plug them in and go back to it if we plugged it wrong. I just want to make sure though, that the solution I offer is the right and accurate one. Just give me two minutes here. I'll post the complete schematic of this lead lights.
Why does the following behaviour plague my computer?
'Autoplay' is Microsofts gift to hackers that looks for an 'autorun.inf' file on a USB stick or root of any connected drive (including network maps).
So look for a file "E:\autorun.inf" and see what unwanted cr*p Winows is trying to execute (if you are lucky, it's just some failed 'auto-update' ... if not it's a virus/rootkit trying to take over your PC)
I can not login and the page will not load and email images will not download?
Microsoft have now dropped support for Windows XP, some users will no longer be able to login if they only have Service Pack 2, this is down to security upgrades that are not supported with this service pack.
In order to correct the problem you need to install Service Pack 3, as you can no longer do this through Windows/Microsoft Update you need to download it directly to your computer, use the link below to get SP3.

Why can't i log into facebook
This could be caused by a few problems.
First, look at the date and time on your computer to ensure that they are set correctly. If not, then set them properly. The reason for this is that many websites such as facebook actually use https (the "s" means secure) rather than http to help protect their users. If the clock is off on the computer, then that invalidates the security certificate and disallows the ability to login securely and successfully.
Second, if that does not help, try clearing any saved password and cookies for facebook so as to force re-entry of your login credentials in case something got hosed. At the same time, clear your Internet cache as there could be something afoul with it as well.
Third, check any software firewall you are running to insure that facebook has not been blocked. How one checks blocked websites varies from one firewall application to another, so I cannot give you any specific directions as to how to investigate this possibility. Just make sure that if facebook is listed, you set it to Allow (or something similar) rather than Block.
These are the most likely issues but there could also be problems with viruses, some sort of restriction or misconfiguration of your router (some routers have the ability to block certain domains from being accessed), or even an entry in the hosts file redirecting the common name of facebook.com back to an erroneous IP address such as the loopback address of 127.0.0.1
If you do not get the issue resolved with these suggestions, get in touch with a local computer repair professional and I am sure that he will be able to fix it for you quickly.
My dell inspiron 2400 won`t come on .it does not show anything on screen.
You first need to check the screen is working, disconnect the VGA/DVI cable from the monitor, then turn it on do you get anything on screen at all?
If that works reconnect the cable and turn it on, now boot the PC, do you see anything at all on the monitor?
No then check the cable/swop with new one or check the graphics card.
Yes but goes off after a few seconds, reboot and press the F8 key as soon as you hear the first beep, this should bring up a start menu, try safe mode, if that works load and windows it might be the graphics driver (has this been updated?) if yes try roll back to previous driver or you could even try system restore back to a date you know it all worked.
Windows will not start, I got a blue screen. My
BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH they call it. could be you pc is dead, or some major part, Hard drive, motherboard, etc. could be a software issue ie Windows to a hit...which means changing hard drives or trying reformatting drive, reinstalling windows. to save your personal files on drive before formatting, you either take it to shop to dump it if possilbe, or try it yourself by taking it out, buying transfer case, and hook it up to another pc to dump files. its going to be alot of work. shop will charge from $75-180 average
