042-372 K Mode Sol Error Restart Printer Error 042-372 Restart Printer Each color has it's own solenoid. the K solenoid is the one for the black ink. It may be that toner has clogged the sensor on the inside right wall of the printer. Sensor hole is a small opening and K is the first hole. Clean it with a cotton swab and alcohol. clean any loose toner also. If this does not take care of it. The sensor board or the solenoid itself needs to be replaced.

how to fix invalid black message after replacing a toner And I have the same problem. I buy 4 new toners and for each one i get notice from xerox 6125 invalid black, or invalid yellow. What do I need work?

If the paper size is correct in the printer and the printer and it's possible to print off a test print in both the printer control screen or directly from the print driver utilities if that works then the only thing I can suggest is the item you want to print is defaulted to a different size. i.e. Check that the word processor your using is set to the size you have in the printer. Imperial size pages will look very similar on screen as does the A4. Printers don't automatically fix paper print sizes you just have to check and recheck for differences. Removing the tray only reafirms to the printer that the size might be incorrect and your going to fit the correct size. As for the red light all printers behave differently in certain error conditions. Have you also tried to print out something you printed at a time the printer was working correctly. In other words try printing out a different file. Maybe, trying to print off a test print of one line of the alphabet, and then go from there. Good luck,

Could be a bend or bad contact, check to make sure that all the metal contacts that touch the cartridge are in good shape. You could also have a clogged waste toner bin on the printer. Or possibly a bad high voltage power supply.

This would normally be the cleaning unit to blame. If in doubt go,to the Xerox.com website and investigate further. Good luck.

If you can address the printer through CentreWare then your halfway there. Is now possible to print a test print via CentreWare if that works look at your p.c, driver setup. Good luck.

Besides setting it for card stock both in its internal menu and the pc's menu, are you setting it for legal size paper? The timing will be thrown off if that step is missed. It will stop pulling the paper because it is looking for 8.5 x 11" paper. I would test with less expensive card stock to also make sure a shard of the decal paper did not get left in the paper path. The card stock should help dislodge any debris in the paper path.

One of the drums in the imaging unit is not working properly so you might have to replace the imaging unit

It's the magenta drum that's causing the problem so you'll have to replace the imaging unit.But first try removing the imaging unit and cleaning the laser windows and the metal contacts.

Hi again Jan, It is possible that your drum but to be sure, get a trained Xerox Technician to check it out... There is still a possibility that it is something else entirely, so getting a technician out would be the best bet... Sorry I couldn't give more of a definitive answer. Sometimes things need to be seen in real life to diagnose properly.

Hi, If it is a genuine magenta cartridge then try a drum refresh... On the control panel of the printer: start the menu Choose Admin Menu \ Maintenance Mode \ Drum Refresh Once it has finished turn it off and on again and see how it goes. You may have a faulty drum though or even a faulty transfer belt. All the best!

Have you set the tray to thick cardstock in the printer? If not try that. This will let thicker paper go through more easily. Make sure you bot have the tray as the printjob set up as the same type of paper. How much does the paper weigh? Also try printing from the manual feed. You're paper path is shorter that way and easier for the printer to handle. Does it only jam on this type of paper? Might be a fuser easy but don't think that's the case with this one.

Sometimes the colors are off because certain (other) colored ink toner cartridge is low. See if you get the same results after you use new toner cartridges.
