You probably need a new controller. I've had the same issue with a few of my xbox controllers, but I'm sorry to tell you that you can't really fix it without potentially destroying it entirely.

Did they connect before and now won't or are these new bluetooth set up connections? If new connections:

1. In the XMB™ home menu, go to [Settings] > [Accessory Settings].
2. Select the "Manage Bluetooth® Devices" option to register (or "pair") a Bluetooth-compatible device with the PS3.

They just snap in after the controller is back together.

You will need to desolder the one you want to replace and solder a new one on.

Heres how you can connect your controller to your PS3.

1. Press the tiny Reset Button on the back of the controller

2. Plug in the USB Connection wire

3. Restart Console

4. When loaded, Press the PS Button

5. Disconnect the USB wire

Then it should have recognised the controller and auto-assigned, hope this works for you

Well usually it is the default bluetooth password if you haven't played with it, the default code being: '0000' or '1111'. That being said, unless you jailbroke your iPad in such a way that can accept the pairing, your controller will not work with the iPad.

Hello, The problem you described seems to come from your ps3 game controller (pad). You can try a different one and see if it works. If the game pad is charging, the ports are ok. Hope it helps

If you still have the PS 3 manuals, try pairing the controllers to your console again by following how to synch it or push the reset button from the back of the controller.

Have you tried using a different controller? Usually this is the problem, your PS3 controller's D-Pad is stuck on the left side or the responding piece beneath the D-Pad is being pressured down in some manner. I recommend trying a Different controller first before buying another PS3 ( get a cheap PS3 Arcade stick or something)
