how do i hook external speakers to sony bravia television
The proper way to do this would be to use the audio output from the TV, either analogue left and right or the optical port, and send it into an dedicated amplifier or AV receiver. You can then use the amplifier or receiver to power the external speakers. If you are using a dedicated amplifier with no volume control you will want to change the audio output setting on the TV to "variable out" as oppose to its current "fixed out"settings. You can find this in the TV menu, usually under the audio settings. This will allow you to use the current TV remote to adjust the audio volume coming out of the external speakers.

my tv has a flickering screenand discolored image when it starts
Two models of the 46 inch Sony Bravia have a screen flicker problem. On my 2008 model, starting from cold, it lasts for 5-10 min, on LHS of screen. The Telefix tech who visited said this is common with these models (46in only), a new panel is needed. Sony provides warranty on this fault for 3 yrs, so you do not need extended warranty to claim. Discuss your case with Sony or Telefix.

The SONY XBR has a Black cloud on the right half of the screen. Sometimes after 20 minutes of being on it goes away. Lately, it has not gone away. Sound is fine and I can see a slightly distorted picture under the black area.
My parents have the same issue with their Sony KDL-46V4100 TV and were told by the tech that the LCD screen was physically broken and would have to be replaced. The replacement of the screen would cost more than a brand new TV and the TV is not longer under warranty. After the TV is on for awhile the Black cloud goes away but it always comes back when they turn the TV off/on. It stays for 20 - 30 minutes sometimes. The Tech took both top corners of the TV and pushed one back and pulled one forward to show them he could recreate the problem after the black blob cleared up. By twisting the corners he made the blob reapper which he claimed was becuase of the damaged screen. I have no idea how the screen was damaged? I helped them take it out fo the box and set it up. We never dropped it bumped it once? It's never falled off the stand so go figure? It would be nice to find more people with this issue and get a recall going. Something that expensive should last longer than to two years.

My Sony Bravia tv screen turns green on occassion when changing channels. You can still hear the sound on the channel but can't see the picture only a green screen. My tv is hooked to a digital cable box and has never had this problem before. My tv is only about a year and a half old. Thanks for any advice.
Hi there,
If you haven't done so already, check that the cable between your tv and digital cable box(probably HDMI) is secure at both ends. If it is, try a different cable and/or different port on your tv if you have more than one. If the issue is still there after you've tried these options it's most likely an issue with either the digital box or tv. I would contact manufacturer at this stage for advise and possible replacement of tv or box if they are under warranty.
Hope this helps.

I get "content error" when I try to watch Netflix movies on my Sony Bravia TV. It worked fine for a couple of weeks, but for the last week I get this message when trying to load the movie. I can access the list of movies in my queue and I can watch other on line stuff, so I know my connection is ok. What do I do?
manually update your tv's software. download it from sony.com/support

my sony bravia screen turned green I do I fix it?
When the color of the screen is complete green, you should not worry. That is the normal color that should be on the screen when no program is coming in because the cable box is off. So simply press OK on the remote of your digital box and your will see picture on your TV. If none appeared, then there is problem on your cable box. Call then your service provider.
