hi just got a new 42lg3000 tv it makes a humming sound comes from the back somehwhere the sound can still be heard even if the tv is muted .whats wrong with my new tv ! please help
Try removing all cables going to the TV except the power cord. Power on the TV and press mute. If you have any unwanted noise, then you have a defective TV and since it is new, you should get an exchange. If there is no noise with the A/V cables removed, then you might have hooked the source (cable box/DVD Player) into the wrong inputs of the TV.

i have an LG 42lg30 and the user manual does not show you how to program other divices remote codes so the LG remote controls my cable box and dvd player. Does anyone know how this remote works?
go and buy a universal learning remote and you will be able to program all your devices on the remote, works very nice. as far as the lg remote, dont think there is a way where u can program your cable and dvd onto the remote and I have lots of experiences with LG

the screws broke off when trying to remove the tv stand from my LG 42lg30. Is there any other way to remove the base stand? thanks
If you broke one of the base stand screw you will need to do as follow:
Remove the remaining screws of the stand and try to remove the stand, if you cant you will need to remove the back cover of the TV and then you will be able to remove the stand, remove the broken screw and put it all back.
It is pretty easy but if you feel you cant do it let me know and I can give you a detailed step by step guide.

To use sky+ remote control with LG 42LH3000 you must have a rev ver8 remote controller.
The codes are stored in a database of the Sky remote. If the old codes don't work
you may need to buy the latest Sky remote. Otherwise it is a matter of waiting for the
new Sky remote which may have the updated codes.
Note: LG Support supplied the following for Rev.8: 0206, 1293, 1665, 1174, 1176, 1219, 1280, 0857, 0851.
Version 1: August 1998
Version 2: December 1999
Version 4: May 2001 (Sky+ introduced)
Version 6: March 2004
Version 8: January 2006 (includes all current Sky+HD remote controls)
Once you have the ver 8 controller - code 1176 should work

need sky remote code for 37lh3000 lg tv please
Sky remote code for LG LH3000 is 0206. This works for the 37" and the 42" and probably for a plethora of other sizes.

how do you save the simplink settings on LG tv. When I get the setting up to have my home cinema system linked to the TV it works great... However, when the TV is turned to standbye, and you break the link... The TV does not save the settings
So, everytime you use the TV you have to set up the simplink again....and this is not as easy as it sounds!
I am currently having the same problem, there is a setting (which I have not found again yet) to change into a mode to enable quiet startup, so you dont accidentally turn devices on when their volume is up loud, I believe this could be the cause but as I said I am still looking for that setting! Constantly have to keep changing speaker output in Simplink every switch on

my LG tv has no sound but everything else works fine what can be wrong
Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be. First, make sure the MUTE function is not activated, then check the on screen sound set up menu to make sure the speakers are not set to OFF. If the setting is OK, then attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks (Red and White) to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit. Please post back what you find.

DETACHMENT
Carefully place the TV screen side down on a
cushioned surface to protect the screen from
damage.
Loose the bolts from TV.
you can view a larger image by clicking on this link then selecting the Manual on the right hand side

Detach the stand from TV.
After removing the stand, install the included
protection cover over the hole for the stand.
Press the PROTECTION COVER into the TV
until you hear it click.
