It seems your new mp3 player memory is already full, you need to delete other files or songs before you added another. If it is not yet full, try to delete and reinstall other songs. Be sure the file songs you added has no error on it.
That the only things you will do, the mp3 player operate normally and trouble come as you add new songs, don't overload it, as it's built in memory will fail.

To update or install drivers for your mp3,
Right click my computer > Select properties > Go the hardware tab and select device manager > Locate your mp3 player (usually under plug a play or universal serial bus controllers) > Right click and select update driver or uninstall and re-insert.

The MP3 froze and ont turn off
Remove the battery and wait for some minutes before you power on back, it might be due to heavy file of music.

know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've described
can't be fixed with troubleshooting. Your player needs to be exchanged (Memorex doesn't repair their mp3 players anymore, they just replace them. Please call the above number so that your warranty eligibility can be determined. We also have some out of warranty options as well.
