Hi. I just bought a
Have you made sure the dock is compatible with the iPod version you have? If you are having to move the iPod around, this may be because the dock isn't built for the iPod you own.
It could also be a technical fault that the dock is loose. Take it/send it back to the shop and explain your problem.
How to identify positive and negative on a JBL
an easy way to identify polarity is with a 9 volt battery --connect the plus and the minus of the battery to the speaker terminals ---if the woofer pushes out--then the plus of the battery is connected to the plus of the speaker --if the woofer goes in then the plus of the battery is connected to the minus of the speaker and then mark it with a black dot on the speaker to indicate its the negative for the speaker and now you know which is plus and which is ground--enjoy

I have a jbl 525 powered speaker but it wont play
Check the incorporated capacitors (if any), also inspect the braid speaker wire on the bass speakers (i understand that these are cutting out).
The braid wires are located between the speaker connection terminal and the speaker cone - if these are damaged or broken, this can cause the speaker to cut out intermittently. To see if this is the case, try to push the speaker membrane gently inward when the speaker cuts out - if it momentarily regains function, then the braid is almost certainly damaged.
Braid wires can be resoldered, but it's not a very easy task because of the structure of the braid, which makes it difficult to clean and solder.
You should have it repaired by someone with good soldering skills or at a speaker repair shop, otherwise the alternative is to replace the speaker.

JBL Radial Remote Doesn't Work
Unfortunately, this is a fairly common problem with many small consumer electronics. The way that the devices are manufactured, there is an IR receiver that is soldered onto the PCB inside the unit. Sometimes this circuitry fails. There aren't any options on the Radial that would turn the option the remote off. Your best bet is that if the unit is still within the return period of the store you purchased it at, to return if. If it is outside of the return policy, I would give JBL consumer line a call to get the unit serviced, or get a replacement. Good Luck!

Problem with your JBL BoomBox2 speaker (or similiar) ?
Just found this out, after crazy searching & brainstorming.
So if your speaker suddenly goes silent or sound comes and goes, you can check this out:
At least the JBL BoomBox seems to have this integrated in its architecture so there's nothing we can do about it, complain to JBL : )
But to the problem: if the SOURCE of music/sound is too low, then the speaker may go into a "sleep mode" - silent. So ensure always your SOURCE of sound, connected to the speaker, has volume at least 80% to avoid this problem.
Hope this helps & no one needs to ditch and buy a new one ! : )
