I have a Kenwood DNX7120 and the physical buttons

My unit has the same issue, started a few weeks ago.

Here is a forum post where someone was able to fix their DXN7120 by replacing the button panel: http://www.kenwoodforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1247

Here is a parts diagram showing the buttons (PN: X16-628):

Maybe someone could write up how to get the panel apart? Otherwise I will once I get the replacement part.

I replace my car battery and my kenwood dnx 7120

While code request mode, point the remote control to the unit and enter this code 55222277or 552222777(depending the remote contro you are using)(try to press the numbers that faster you can) that is way you type KCAR from the remote control.
you will not see any change on the screen while you entering the number, only when you enter the last number the unit will go to standby mode.
if you make a mistake, reset the unit and start all over again.

DNX7120 issue with VOL increase

I had the same issue. You can use the on screen volume buttons on screen to stop issue and don't use the physical buttons anymore. Watch out about a month after the volume problem started all physical buttons on my DXN7120 stopped working. There are a few reports of this online, I have not found a fix yet.

Will not come on (screen lights up only),the

Hello,

if an electronic device does not come on/power on, it is said to have a power problem. Probably the battery is not fully charged as you thought and maybe that's why the unit is not powering on.

But if battery is actually fully charge and it still does not power up, then it means its having a power problem. it might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

I wish you the best of luck.
