I've just fixed my ck17 which had similar symtoms. There are 2 electrolytic capacitors in the controller board, which I replaced. It's very close to the bottom of the kettle where the elements is,and they are only rated at 105degrees, .one of them had evidence of leaking, so I replaced.them both, with higher voltage ones ,also rated at 105degrees.
1000uf 6.3v replaced with 1000uf 16v
47uf 25v replaced with 47uf 50v

Please check whether this issue persists with lower viscosity dough. It could be the pressure and/or thickness of the dough that's causing the disconnection. Or it your device is over a certain age you might need to replace the mixing paddle or replace the part that holds it still within the bread maker. My first thought is dry motor bearings. If you can access the motor bearings, place a very small amount of oil (30w preferred) directly on the motor shaft. Then try to see if you can insert a couple drops of oil into the felt padding that is around the motor bearings.
