Fabric softener won't drain into the spindle. It collects in the tray at the bottom of the dispenser. However, yesterday, a lot of it drained out of the spindle and collected at the bottom of the wa

You can also dilute the fabric softener with tap water which allows it to be more free flowing and distribute itself better.

When the spin cycle begins the washer vibirates

The machine is probably not leveled properly. To level the machine, partly fill it with water. Make sure that the drum is standing in the middle of the machine and then adjust the machine until the water is at the same level all around at the nearest set of holes to the water. Check that the drum is still in the center of the outer drum. Make sure that the adjusting feet are all firmly on the floor and that you cannot rock the machine at all by hand. A top loader must be 100% level or it will shake.

The drum vibrates when the machine is on spin. I

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.
(If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning- but you can see the springs. Shockers?)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Machine is leaking. It is probably 15 yrs+ old.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I'm sorry but it would be impossible for someone here to diagnose remotely how the leak could be caused. All that can be suggested is that you call for a service engineer ;-0(
Sorry again we cannot help.

Getting grease or oil spots on clothes when

If you get grease-like marks on your clothes after a laundry cycle, and they wash out in the next load, don't despair. It's a sure bet they're caused by detergent and fabric softener that have congealed on the underside of the agitator or along the top edge of the washer basket.

To eliminate the problem, first clean any crud from the gap along the top of the washer basket. Then remove the agitator and clean the gunk off the underside. Since the agitator removal procedure varies by manufacturer, go toallplianceguru.com and search for your make and model. After youve cleaned the agitator, reinstall it and fill the tub with hot water. Next, dump in 8 oz. of washing machine cleaner (Washer Magic is one brand; buy fromamazon.com or applianceparts stores) and run it for a full cycle without any clothes. That should eliminate the problem. If not, repeat the procedure.

Water flowing through outlet pipe before washing.

Make sure that the outlet pipe is higher than the top of the desired water level, preverably level with the top of the machine. Otherwise it will run out to the level of the pipe.

Cold water trickles in and fills up slowly

You either have a water pressure/flow problem or the inlet screen in your inlet valve is clogged. Remove the cold water hose and use a bucket to check if you have good pressure and flow. If that is good, look and clean the inlet valve screen for debris. Hope this helps.

Machine making loud noise on spins cycle

Well, the only time the washer (speedqueen) is noisy on spin is if one or both the bearings are faulty. Normally when you get a leak, it means the hub/flange and seal kit need replacement and this also includes the top bearing because when soap suds leak past the seal assembly it drips directly onto the bearing. The acidic properties in the soap suds eats the grease in the bearing which ends up becoming defective. One can also get an anoying squeek if a bottom base gasket is worn or removed. This would be audible even on wash cycle. Conclusion, check the bearing on top of gearbox.
