The post filter should pop in and you should hear a click to make sure it is locked in place. If you don't hear that click, the spring may be broken. Otherwise, your post filter may be dirty. Once the filter is packed with debris, air can no longer pass through it causing the ball to pop open. There are also two types of filters for your Dyson DC25. A new switch is usually the easiest solution

On the motor side of the powerhead there is a red reset button. This trips to protect the brush motor when the roller gets jambed. Hope this helps.

Any residual moisture could cause damage not covered under your machine's guarantee, potentially resulting in a chargeable repair. Hi, it sounds that you may have a fault in your cable sometimes the wire inside the cable gets broken and only connects now and again when in the right position. I remember reading some where about this person had a dyson and had to get the wire changed for a second time as this was the fault. They put it into a dyson repairer to get the job done as you have to remove the motor. I no that's what you need to do on a dc07 animal. If its not the cable then it could be the temp cut out switch my first motor would go for so long hoovering then just stop and you would have to wait till it had cooled down then it would go for another short time. I had to get a new motor that time but it was covered by dyson . When the dyson man arrived i told him it was cutting out and he just fitted a new motor. I have since just replaced that motor myself rather than buy a new dyson. Always remember to remove the plug from the socket when doing repairs to your hoover.

Once you put it back together recline the vacuum as normal use and turn it on. If not working still the brush motor is burnt up. Needing replaced.

You will need to inspect closely as you move the vacuum to try to find what is causing it to not flow smoothly. There may be worn or broken parts or debris causing something to not mesh as it should.

Brush rolls wear out and usually need replaced every few years. The DC33 model has a clutch with belts which could also be slipping. I would replace both of them
