Saeco Starbucks Sirena Espresso Machine Questions & Answers
Unable to prime Sirena Espresso Machine
n regards of the no prime issue. this is the only way i could prime this new puppy.make sure its stone cold which is a no brainer since it will not heat h2o unless its primed. first take off steamer plastic tip ,turn on steamer clock wise till pump starts. then **** the tip of the end of the metal tip hard until pump stops may need to do it a couple of times. yes this seems out of this world but it works. you are flushing out the vapor lock in the pump. bravo enjoy!
Starbucks Sirena espresso flashing blue light & does not heat up
Gary,
I have the same exact problem with mine starting today, did you get this figured out? I'd love to know if it's fixable or not as I was planning on selling my previous machine. If it's an expensive repair, I'll just have to ditch this one and go back to my previous one.
Sirena Espresso Machine powers on but will not heat up and water not priming
After weeks of trial and error, I have found the solution, to prime the Starbucks Sirena Saeco Espresso Machine (woohoo!!!!!!!!!! ). You do not need to disassemble this machine, it will not heat unless it is prim WARNING: machine must be STONE COLD before attempting this! 1. Get a large syringe (Without a needle of course, I used a 60ml one I bought at a pharmacy for $3.) 2. Fill the water tank full 3. Pull off chrome tip on the steam wand to expose the black plastic jet where steam comes out. 4. Place the tip of the syringe onto the tip of the black plastic steam jet on the machine. 5. Push the power button ON. 6. Turn the steam knob clockwise all the way until the pump starts. 7. Press the syringe onto the jet firmly to seal the connection, and simultaneously draw the plunger out. 8. Quickly, release the seal and eject the air in the syringe out (into open air not into the machine) 9. Repeat steps 7&8 until water draws into the syringe. 10. Go make yourself a cup of coffee and celebrate that you overcame the flaw in this machines design that renders most of them to the rubbish heap.
Cannot Prime Starbucks Sirena

Starbucks Sirena. lights blink, won't heat.
johnshami had this solution on another post, and it worked for us:
- make sure the water in the tank is stone cold -- which is a no brainer since it
will not heat h2o unless it's primed.
- take off steamer wand cover, turn the steamer knob clockwise till pump starts.
- then s*ck (as you would on a straw, with your lips sealed around the end of the steamer wand) the tip of the
end of the metal tip hard until pump stops
- may need to do it a couple
of times. yes this seems crazy, but it works! you are
flushing out the vapor lock in the pump.
Will a Starbucks sirena portafilter fit on a Starbucks barista?
The Sirena portafilter is 58mm and the Barista portafilter is smaller at 53mm so the two are not interchangeable.
58mm is a fairly common size in portafilters however, so if you are looking for something different for your Sirena, there are options. Also the Sirena has a rubber disc and peg to function as a self-tamper, those can be removed so you can tamp your own grind and adjust it to your liking.
