Over the range microwaves have a piece of face
When this happens, it is due to grease or food particles stuck somewhere in the
cavity of the oven or stuck on or behind the waveguide cover.
Keep the inside of the cooking cavity clean and if necessary, dry it out after use.

What would cause microwave to turn on but not heat
A faulty Magnatron ( engine)
There is no separate fuse here. If there is no heat the magnatron has stopped working. re[pairs are almost not worth the effort due to cost of the unit and the labour. Easier to visit a pawn shop ands gewt a goood second hand recehecked on with a warranty for about $50-100 ( a fraction of the repair cost)
Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

Is there a piece I can install on the bottom of my
Every over the range microwave has a vent on it that should be venting that steam. I don't know of anything you could put under there that would solve your problem as that is where then vents are and they would be blocked. It sounds to me as though your steam is not being vented properly, and this could also happen if the steam is being vented back into the room instead of outside as many OTR microwaves allow you to do. Its a little bit of work to vent it outside but I myself did that with my microwave and have never had a steam accumulation problem.

DISCLAIMER as in all Microwaves, there is a possibility of DEATH if you
are familiar with troubleshooting of a Microwave and it is NOT ADVISABLE
to trying to diagnose and repair this product by yourself. Now, that being said. Majority of the time on Maytag (which is built for Maytag by Samsung) the Magnetron will pre-maturely fail. There is always the possibility of a open fuse going to the primary side neutral of the High Voltage Transformer. Also the relay on the control PCB has to close as well for the High Voltage Transformer to operate. Unless you are extremely familiar with Electricity and Electronic troubleshooting, you can get in over your head extremely fast and small mistakes can lead to injury or death.

Microwave no longer heats, makes more noise than
Sounds like the magnetron has failed. There are some high voltage circuits that feed the magnetron and you can potentially get hurt if you don't know what you are doing. Would recommend you have it serviced by a professional if you want it fixed, otherwise look for a new one since the cost of repair can come close to the price of a new
microwave oven.
