Turntable motor turns without plate but not with

Underneath the oven (you will have to remove the case) you will find a little motor with a belt on it. Your belt is slipping. OR ... you will find that the teeth in the platter (the thing that actually does the turning of your plate) are missing.

My microwave turns on and light up but does not

The problem is most likely the magnetron, but there are two parts of concern, the high voltage capacitor and diode can be a factor, they work in conjunction with the magnetron to produce the high voltage that heats the food. A Maytag repairman might be good idea to check the system out to see if repairs can be done with in a reasonable amount.

My over the stove maytag microwave makes noise and

If there is no heating please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. The burning can be the magnetron or the capacitor. It is possible that the Magnetron is faulty, the temperature cut off is faulty or the main capacitor is short. It is also quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron.
So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off.
Make sure that the program controller is working if not check power - step down supply, the pads are responding- if not faulty pads- or the door switches, if contact is not through the microwave will not work.

Now keeping clear of the microwave, switch on, use a cup of water inside to test. If you notice any sparks shut off as the magnetron or the main HT capacitor can be faulty. replace with same type.If there is heating without any issues, you can use the microwave safely

Turntable does not rotate. What are the possible

Replacement of the turntable motor should be carried out by a qualified appliance repair service.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

But here is a basic method if you are mechanically minded and have electrical safety knowledge.

The motor assembly is fixed to the base of the oven usually with two screws and access is obtained usually by removing the inspection plate directly beneath the motor. It is usually a plug in synchronous motor that revolves at a few revs per minute but the plastic cogs in the motors gear box fail and the motor assembly must be replaced. They are fairly inexpensive and obtainable usually from a domestic appliance repair shop.
If you feel confident, disconnect it from the mains power, remove anything in the cavity and turn it upside down if it is a tabletop model, a little more complicated if it is built in!
Remove the inspection plate, sometimes it must be cut out with sharp cutters, and disconnect the motor. Remove the motor and go and get a new one. Fit the new motor and fit the inspection cover back on the base by turning it to fit and using an extra screw fix it then put the microwave back in its position. Plug it back in, with the turntable and plate. Put a cup of water on the plate inside of the oven and heat for 20 seconds to check the plate goes round.
Hope this helps.

Doesn't heat up

Hello there:
normally When the microwave sounds okay, but there's no heat, one of the internal door switches, the high voltage circuitry, or the circuit board may have a problem and will need to be checked with a meter for continuity when the machine is unplugged
Furthermore you will want to have the megatron and the power inverter checked as well these are the 2 most common parts that will fail and cause this problem ok
Please feel free to post me a comment if you want help testing these parts and i will help you diagnose this problem ok?
Best regards mike

My micro wave stopped heating,

It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

This is a job for a professional but if you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

Load test.

A simple safety test.
Place 1/2 litre of water in a glass container. Measure the temperature of the water.
Place in microwave and heat on full power for 1minute.
Measure the temperature after it has stood for 1minute.
If the temperature difference is more than 9 degrees Celcuis the magnetron is working and producing about 700Watts of heat.
If your microwave is labelled with 900 or 1000Watts. That is about right.
If the temperature is less then the magnetron is not working properly and may need replacing.

This a only a rough guide and any doubts you should consult an authorised service agent.

I have an over the stove microwave. It was working

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

We bought MMV1153BAS in Nov 2005 and immediately

It sounds like the unit may be in demo mode. This is a mode entered usually after a power interruption, and the unit will act like it's on display in a store. Check in the unit's manual to see if there's a way to exit demo mode, but some of the old standards may be cutting its power off again for a few seconds, or holding down something like a stop or clear button for a few seconds.
