Hi, I have an older dishwasher also and recently mywife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I amtried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installedthem in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also foundthat if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad...So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to makesure it is working... You need to clean out the filter in base of machine.
Also make sure the filter well is clean.

Close the tap. Remove the connecting end at the washer body. Flush the water through this pipe into a bucket or drain. Allow all the debris pass.

Now clean the filter which you can see inside the dish washer small threaded pipe end. You have to pull this and clean it. Re fix it back and try.

Blockage in the line from the diishwasher to the ABS drain pipe .

Unlikely to be the wiring. It can only be the motor, the door switch, the flood sensor, the motherboard or the control panel.
