The car seat does not install properly - it is

Hi LindaWe would strongly advise you to take the vehicle to your nearest authorised Safety 1st retailer and ask for a carseat fitter trained member of staff to provide a physical fitting of the seat to confirm that it can be safely secured and used in your vehicle and to demonstrate to you how to correctly fit it.

My daughter puked all over

I imagine you've already fixed this problem by now. I have two of these car seats and it took me the longest time to figure it out. If you still need help, let me know. You're right, the instructions aren't as easy as they seem.

How can I remove base

I think on your car seat there is a rod that is under the seat and it slides thru the base.
There is a small tang that you press to one side and the rod will slide out separating the
seat from the base.

I am trying to remove the infant insert.

Wow, brings back memories! The splitter is the strange metal piece on the back of the car seat with straps attached to it. See page 9 of your user manual for a picture OR a manual for the 2008 (& newer) model can be downloaded at this link: http://www.safety1st.com/usa/eng/DJGFiles/ProductDocuments/43583340D.pdf

How to change the Safety 1st

To change it into a belt positioning booster seat, you remove the harness straps completely and use the positioning clips on the side of the carseat (up by the head) to position the automobile's seat belt to the appropriate position.

Dont know how to put straps back on car seat

It very difficult trying to explained to your what go wheres, your about the 5th person but different types of car seat having the same problems putting the strap back together correctly which I try to help. It would be a big safety issue for your child if someone gave you the wrong directions and you dont do it correctly and you think you did. I my self spend almost over an hours with mine when I undo mine to wash it, man what a pain. the best thing to do is to find the store that sell your type of car seats and take your car seat in with you and look at their display and copy it, trust me they wont mind. most of them will be fairly close and the same but you will get an idea. when you do get it back on, take a pictures and also have a friend watch you also, two eyes better than one, undo it and practice couple times eventually you wont have a problems next time.
