The notch has two positions. when you pull it out completely that is the time adjustment. Now when you pull it just slightly that will be the date setting. Turning it clockwise will change the day and counter clock wise changes the date number. Hope that helps.I got my watch from a third party w/ out manual cause it was cheaper. Took me awhile to figure out.

You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10! Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15! The person who changed the battery has probably disturbed the hands and disconnected it. Take it back and make them fix it or have it fixed. Same thing happened to my Swiss-made Tissot. Spent $7 to have the battery changed, cost me $1,000 watch. They don't have the parts for my Tissot any more.

Pull the battery out of the watch, the number is stamped on the battery negative side, go on eBay and find the battery.

It appears that the time display should always be visible. I was unable to find an owners manual on the Re-Run and a lot of people ask how do you even change the time on them. If there's a power saving or alternate display function in the owners manual, it will explain why the face goes blank.
