It is an assembly that is bolted on to the end of the machine, remove the assembly and replace it with a new one. DO NOT try to replace the rope only - the problem is in the assembly mechanical parts.

The carbs nearly never stuff up, make sure the air cleaner filter is clean (rinse in petrol, allow to dry) remove the spark plug and check the "gap" is correct (nail file should slide snugly between it) and the plug itself is clean (wire brush any carbon deposits away).

Ace Hardware is probably the only place. Check the Stihl web site for a dealer near you.

try tune up carb may need cleaning rebuilt or replacement --incorrect fuel ratio

High speed carb adjustment needs opened 1/4 turn. Counterclockwise. If you've no adjustment tool, what I do is take dremel tool and grind slot into each adjustment screw....that way a small flat screwdriver can be used to adjust it

they are specific to your model.

all two stroke and 4mix engines have spark arrestors unless the customer removes them

spray carb cleaner on it and see if the rpms change
