How can I run PrintMaster 16 Platnum in Windows 7

Printmaster 16 Platinum is an older program and is compatible with XP and older versions of Windows. First check which version of Windows 7 that you have. Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If your version title ends with x64, you will need to use an option that lets you run an older version of Windows. If you do not see x64 in the title, then the compatibility mode might work. For the 32-bit OS, right click on the installer and choose Properties. In the Compatibility tab, check the box for always run in the compatibility mode and select an older version of Windows. Apply the changes and click OK. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator. You may need to repeat this to run the software as well. This is not guaranteed to work in Windows 7 32-bit. The alternative is to run an older version of Windows. This could be on a second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer (if your hardware supports the feature). Most of these methods require licensed version of the older Windows OS. If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate or upgrade to them, you can run a virtual XP OS for free. Download Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Then install the Printmaster program in XP as if this is the only OS. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) The only other option is to upgrade to a version of Printmaster that is Win7 compatible. One option is Printmaster 2012 Platinum available here: http://www.broderbund.com/p-273-printmaster-2012-platinum.aspx . I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

I am no longer able

OK to "Fix" this I recommend that you do a "System Restore". This will "put you back" to where you were before you did the "Damage". as it were.
So rather than going all through it here i will give you a "How To" link, that walks you through the "System Restore".
So simply choose a date that was PRIOR to whenever you "Deleted" those files, or did whatever you think is the "Cause' of the problems, and after you do it all it will all be back to where it was before it all went wrong, you will NOT loose any settings etc either, just get it all back and working again.

I would like to install

Hello, The program is not designed to be installed completely to your HDD as there are many disks and this would take up a lot of space and make it less appealing to customers with low free space. You may be able to do what you what with the use of virtual drives. You can install virtual drives on your computer that look like real CD/DVD drives in your windows explorer but really only point to a disk image on your hard drive. You can download a free one here: http://static.slysoft.com/SetupVirtualCloneDrive.exe You could then install a program that makes a copy of your disk in the CD/DVD drive such as this (trial ware) http://static.slysoft.com/SetupCloneCD.exe and save all the images to a folder in your computer. Now go into the virtual clone drive program and mount each image to a new virtual drive letter. You may be able to find some free CD image makers as well, but CloneCD works pretty well. Now the bad... The Print master program might only recognize the CD/DVD drive you used to install the program with and thus rendering all your clone drives useless or not readable by the program. Second problem, mounting all these images will eat up tons of ram and slow your computer down. It works ok for maybe 2-3 drives but if you need more then that, you will have a bogged down system. So in short if the Print Master program does not have a customize option that lets you select to install all of the art onto your computer, you will have to fight with a hack job, such as what I suggested in the comments above. How many CD/DVD's in total come with this version of PrintMaster? Regards,

Updating your Shockwave player will not affect your PrintMaster Platinium 16. You should update Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.9.620 ie the latest version from Adobe.

Hope it helps.

I keep getting an error

Try starting adobe acrobat before trying to print/save. If screens come up wanting you to agree to a license agreement, you need to do so. A lot of times, this software gets installed, but never gets started, and therefore never gets the license agreed to! Once this is done, and acrobat is working properly, try to print/save.

If it does not work...

You might try to re-install adobe acrobat.

This can be done by going to control panel and then to add remove programs..
Select adobe acrobat and click remove.

After that, you can re-install using your acrobat disc. If you do not have an acrobat disc, you may find the software up at Adobe's website:

Adobe.com/acrobat
or
Adobe.com/acrobatreader

Once this is re-installed, you should be able to launch the print to file!

Hello!

I've read your comments... I wanted you to pay attention that there are 2 registrations within the Borderbund website:
1. Login registration (username/email + password) - here.
2. Product registration - here.

It looks like for downloading content using Print Master, you'll have to register BOTH.

Anyways, I'd like to understand what's the exact situation that you encounter. In other words, what do you mean by "cannot connect"? Do you get any error message?

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

Good luck & best regards,
