Did you get various base adapters with the Bose dock. Not all phones have the same pin configurations.
Ipod won't dock
The most cost effective solution is to fit an upgrade kit from invebo.com If you go to the site and enter your serial number then you get access to all the diagniostic videos and information. The upgrade takes aboyut 5 minutes to fit and is supplied on a no-risk 'buy and try' basis. You can also call the helpline and talk to the real engineers that repair the docks not the sales people..
Bose SoundDock burned out two of my iPods - a Nano and a classic.
um ur sounddock might require that u place the white docking piece that came with ur ipod to be place b4 the ipod is docked
if not u may ruin the dock and the ipod usb port
this is done because different generation ipods(nana and touch and ...) have different shapes so the entrance for docks may require to be eleveated or reduce in gradient
basically if the dock isnt made for the specific ipod or u dont know
just put the white piece in
I just bought a new
Hi. Try to reset the Nano by pressing the middle button and menu at the same time. If same thing happened, i suggest you need to have your sounddock system checked with the manufacturer.

Diagnostic videos and spares for the Bose SoundDock. There are several builds of the Bose SoundDock Original that look identical from the outside. I bought the new ipod
Hi
First ensure the dock is powered up. Then simply set your
iPod to play what you want and then insert it onto the dock. You should hear music immediately.
However, you should be aware that with the later generation ipod Touch (which your new one is) the older Bose I Docking stations will not charge the
iPod Touch as the pin-outs were changed in the ipod design. There are also some problems in this case with the functionality of the remote control.
Bose is aware that the new versions of the iPod Touch (8GB, 16GB and 32GB) and iPod Nano (8GB and 16GB) do not charge when docked on the original Bose SoundDock.
Previous versions of these iPods used a specific pin on the dock connector on the bottom of these iPods for charging purposes. The pin to charge these iPods was changed to a different pin with the introduction of the newer models mentioned above.
The newer Bose SoundDock II charges your new iPod touch and is fully compatible with the iPod.
If you have the older sound dock you should call Bose as there is an upgrade available for around $99 that will work with the original Bose dock to give it 100% compatability with the new iPod.

New ipod nano not compatable with bose docking
This is true. The new iPod nano is not compatible with the original SoundDock. This only means that it won't charge the iPod's power. Audio should be okay. This is an Apple issue. They changed the way almost all of their iPods charge (except the iPod classic).
Bose can upgrade the SoundDock for their normal repair fee of $99. This would also you a new 1 year warranty.
The connection seems to have
clarification, first try to use your ipod using your ear phone if good, try to check the battery of your ipod dock station it might be broken try to replace it.
