Customize microsoft works

MS Works is an all-in-one application. You would need to install the entire package. A better choice would be to go with Google and use their (FREE!) calendar. It will integrate into many apps and is more up-to-date than MSWorks, which has been discontinued by Microsoft.

Hello my name is latisha,

Just a guess, but if you reinstalled Windows without the original disk that came with your computer you may be missing a registry key to match the program.

Is it not supposed to be included a Telephone book

Works 9 does contain by default a Calendar and an Address Book, maybe you are referring to it, but the Telephone book is only a custom addition that comes in it only if Works is a bundled software - one that is offered for free with another device or service, in your case most likely with your internet connection.

I have just purchased a new computer with Works 9

The preinstalled software was a evaluation product the manufacturer was paid to install on your computer.

You do not need to enter a registration key to continue working with the native Microsoft Works 9 SE applications: Works Word Processor, Works Spreadsheet, and Works Database. However, the integrated Microsoft Office 2007 trial version is for evaluation purposes only. At the end of the trial period the product will go into reduced functionality mode and you will have the option to convert it into a full version. You can obtain a 60-day trial registration key from the Microsoft web site or you can buy the program and get a full license key.

Can ms works 6 files be opened with open office

Hi

Openoffice can read anything that MS office can make. Openoffice can also save files in MS office's .doc format. So, if you are sending documents to people that don't have Openofice, and that need to edit the documents you should send them in .doc/.xls/etcetera. If they don't need to edit the document it's best to use .pdf since that guarantees that they will see the document as you intended.

Please can i ask that you leave feedback and vote if this has been useful

I have works 9 and cannot open files sent to me in

This is a special Microsoft Word 2007 format with macros enabled. I'm not sure if Works supports the format at all. (Certainly, when I look at the Microsoft web site, it's not listed as supported on Works 7.0. Nothing newer showed up on their web site.)

Your possible work-arounds: check if Wordpad reads it (it can read .doc files but I haven't tried .docm files), download and install OpenOffice 3.0 (reads Office 2007 files, IIRC), try the Google cloud Word processor (I haven't tried this). If you only need to read the file, the Microsoft Word Viewer is a good bet. Download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3657ce88-7cfa-457a-9aec-f4f827f20cac&displaylang=en . You may need to also add the Office compatability pack: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466 .

I hope this helps.

Microsoft works 9 wont open files

A lot of Vista users have run into this problem. From what I can tell...you need to do a system restore.
One suggestion was to change the default printer(?).
Another was to use Open Office, which is free.
Sorry, not a Vista user, wised up after a month.
